Wow wow wow wow!!!! I love Lucretia!! She's so fun !! :3 gosh I just love love LOVE your takes on the Blacks!! I love your takes on everyone tbh but ahhhh she's just so fun! I bet Ignatius felt on top of the world with her lol !
Jeez idek what to say!! Aghhh such a good job like always! I love them! I love Remus! You just,,, get him so right! You understand him! I've never thought of Jewish/Polish/big noses LOL Remus but I'm in love w it now! Is his nose big in size or shape? Or both? :0 I really really like slash appreciate that you give him a good relationship with his parents! I've never really seen him as a mummy's boy but I've always Def thought that they all love each other!! A lot!! Ahhhh and Lyall's guilt,,,, ah! I love them! How do you think the dual religion works? :O
Umumumumumunumummmmmmmmmm if you're not tired of me yet LMAO I would really love to hear all about like,, pretty much everyone! Ik you'll probably talk more about them in your Knights post but if you have any thoughts about like,, the Averys that don't really fit in there I'd love to listen to them :3 I love your blabbers!!!!!!!! It'd also be really cool to hear about the Rosiers! Like Evan's dad :3 idkidk they're just so ! yk??
- 🍃
Ahhhh I'm so glad you love her!! She's seriously one of my favourites!!! I'm gonna do a yap on her brother and cousins at some point,,, I'm considering doing individual posts about the different families in the Sacred 28, mentioning things commonly associated with them, family scandals, known family members, family values etc jfnbjnjgb Ignatius was definitely in disbelief for a good bit honestly but once they got together I feel like he was over the moon,, it was one of those "pinch my arm so I know it's still real" situations for sure
Also ahhhh I'm so glad you see the vision for Remus,, I kinda feel like he's not the typical take people have on him?? Or maybe I've just seen a lot more of different takes which is making me feel like that vjnfjbngjbng
I think his nose is probably more noticeably big in shape? It's quite protruding I think vnjfnbjgb though it is also just a big nose in general. He's got a bit of a slope going on too, I think
YES YES YES!!! Remus having a good relationship with his parents is so important to me,, if I had to choose one Remus headcanon it might be that one tbh it just forms who he is for me in such a significant way. I think Remus being a mummy's boy or like,,, closer to his mother more so comes from the fact that Hope's trying to make up for Lyall not always being as present as he wants to be because of his guilt.
As for the dual religion, like I said, I don't think Lyall is extremely religious so as for holidays and traditions they'd likely be more Jewish leaning, especially cause I think Hope would be someone who got really focused on preparing everything etc. Depending on when Chanukah was they'd celebrate either Chanukah or Christmas but I could see them doing both if it fell on different dates? I'm not super sure but yeah!!!
I did a bit about the Avery family a few days ago jcnfjcnfj and I’m gonna do more in another post but yes, let me yap about the Rosiers!!!
So generally speaking I don’t portray Evan and Pandora as twins. Their parents are Druella’s older and younger brothers and their grandparents are Felix and Minette Rosier (I will likely be changing Minette’s name as I learned that there’s actually already a Minette Rosier, she just married into the Lestrange family). I think the Rosiers speak exclusively French when they’re home and they kinda look down on people who are able to but don’t.
Alabaster is the eldest, born in 1928 and he was the only Slytherin of his siblings. For context he’s a fifth year at Hogwarts when Tom Riddle, Edmund Avery Senior, Bruce Mulciber Senior and that whole gang are all in their sixth year. I’ve changed Cygnus Black’s age (so he doesn’t become a father at thirteen like Joanne apparently thought he should) so Alabaster and Cygnus are dorm mates in my head. Alabaster dies when he’s fairly young, either just before Evan is born or a month or so after,,, I haven’t decided yet. I just know Evan does not grow up with a dad. Alabaster married Ursa Brown (I might find a different last name for her cause I like the idea of her being French), a fellow Slytherin in his year.
Druella was born in 1930 and was a Hufflepuff. She enjoys watercolour paintings and home decorating and she’s quite close with her mother. She puts a lot of value on being a good future wife,,, there’s still a bit of drama that goes on when her and Cygnus gets engaged because before it gets announced she doesn’t know if she’s gonna marry Alphard or Cygnus (the latter who she’s had a bit of a crush on)
Acelin is the baby of the family born in 1931. He was sorted into Hufflepuff like his sister. He was noticeably close with a certain Eileen Prince who was also in both his year and house. Acelin marries Adaline, a French witch who attended Beauxbaton during her younger days
Also as it turns out, I’ve got a drawing of them from when they were in their fifth, third and second year!
Tumblr media
My favourite headcanon for the Rosiers is that they frequently mix with Veelas. Alabaster, Druella and Acelin’s grandmother was a Veela and so they’re a quarter Veela. I like the idea of the family frequently mixing with Veelas which is how they have the white-gold hair. I could see Adaline being part Veela tho how much idk. I’m also just a sucker for Rosier family who’s odd and alluring and in theory a good handful of them are so freaky no one should want to be near them but still there’s just something inexplainable about them. Also the Rosier family who use it to their advantage to gain relationships with important wizard in families,,,,
I don’t have a lot for Evan’s dad other than like,,, his design? Though I do really like that,,, Evan is pretty much identical to him the genes are strong lol. His marriage is arranged just as both his siblings are, though he ends up quite happy with Ursa for the short time that they have together before he passes away

March 29, 1970
Astronauts are a rare breed, and Pam is still amazed that she, of all people, has a front row seat to the American heroes. A rather unique one at that, where she bears witness to facets usually shrouded from the rest of the country, catching glimpses of what lies beneath the carefully curated air of confidence and capability.
For all the stoicism of the likes of an Ed Baldwin, or the laid-back charm of a Gordo Stevens, there’s a thread of vulnerability that ties them together, tense and taut. It emerges as the nights wear on, and the liquor flows freely. Pam has bent her ear long enough to recognize it for what it is–an unspoken acknowledgment that, despite hours upon hours of meticulous preparation that can stretch for months or even years, the precariousness of their jobs means it could all go belly up without a moment’s notice.
She observes this uncertainty–this fear –even in the ASCANs, every time they walk into The Outpost with one less candidate in tow. Pam makes sure to give an extra generous pour of whiskey whenever she sees the exhaustion in Tracy Stevens’ eyes or the weariness in Danielle Poole’s polite smile. Tries to make the already taciturn Ellen Waverly laugh whenever she folds ever inward into quiet solitude.
Yes, Pam knows the weakness of these titans of space. They know she knows. And though she’s an ally, and not quite a friend, her discretion makes her an honorary member of their exclusive club. But sometimes that privilege can be a bit too much. Too overwhelming to play unofficial therapist as she fixes cocktails and cracks open beer bottles for hours on end.
And so, she welcomes the breaks, and doesn’t hesitate to accept when her boss tells her to clock out early on a slow Sunday afternoon. It’s Easter after all, and even the astronauts know better than to spend it away from their families.
Pam’s halfway out the door, already in her own little world, when she nearly bumps into someone while crossing the threshold.
“Pam, hi.” Ellen, startled, takes a step back as Pam exits and lets the door swing shut behind her.
“Hey,” Pam greets, stomach fluttering in pleasant surprise.
In jeans and a white blouse, Ellen’s the most casual Pam’s ever seen her. She takes in Pam’s denim jacket and the purse slung over her shoulder. “You, uh, heading out?”
“Yeah.” Pam nods. “Got a ‘Get Out of Jail Free’ card for the rest of the day.”
“Oh.”
Pam’s not sure if the flash of disappointment in Ellen’s brown eyes is a figment of her imagination. “Didn’t expect to see you here on a holiday.”
“Wasn’t planning on it.” Ellen shrugs sheepishly. “Took a walk and just ended up here, I guess.”
Pam gives an exaggerated grimace. “I don’t know whether that’s sweet or sad.”
Ellen laughs. “Definitely the latter, for sure.”
Of all the ASCANs, Ellen’s the one Pam knows the least about. Not that she hasn’t been curious to know more about the introverted trainee. She knows better than to push, preferring to let people open up at their own pace. But when an opening presents itself…
“Won’t your family wonder where you are?” Pam ventures.
“Ah, family’s back in Connecticut.” Ellen slips her hands in her back pockets. “So…”
She’s alone , Pam realizes with a swell of sympathy, and before she can think better of it, she blurts out, “You should come with me.”
Ellen’s eyebrows shoot up. “W-where?”
“Anywhere’s gotta be better than here.” Pam doesn’t know what she’s doing or why she’s doing it. But it just feels right . “I mean, unless you want to spend the rest of your holiday in this shithole. No judgment.”
To Pam’s relief, the corners of Ellen’s lips curl up. “Lead the way.”
It’s a beautiful spring day in Houston, still pleasantly cool as the days creep toward the heat of summer. Pam brings Ellen to her favorite park, where budding trees line the banks of a small pond in bright pastels of pink and green and white. The sun glints off the rippling water and, judging by the way Ellen’s eyes light up, Pam knows she made the right decision.
“So, how’s training going?” Pam asks as they walk side-by-side along a paved path that winds around the pond, taking their time.
“It’s…” Ellen squints into the distance before glancing sidelong at Pam. “Don’t you get tired of us unloading on you?”
The question catches Pam off-guard, and she doesn’t answer right away. “No one’s, um, ever asked me that.”
“Probably because a lot of us are narcissistic assholes,” Ellen says the expletive so matter-of-factly that Pam can’t help but laugh. “It’s true! You know it.”
“Not all of you.” Pam nudges Ellen’s shoulder with her own. “Listening’s part of the job.”
“Doesn’t mean you don’t get tired of it,” Ellen points out, prompting a noncommittal hum from Pam. “I could go on and on about how it’s tough and stressful, but I’m guessing you’ve heard it all before. I’d rather know more about you.”
“I’m really not that interesting,” Pam deflects even as warmth prickles up the back of her neck.
“Try me.” Ellen looks at her with such open, genuine interest that Pam caves. She’s not quite sure what it is about Ellen that makes her want to open up, but she does and she goes with the flow.
She leads them to a row of empty benches situated beneath pergolas covered in plants that twist up and around wooden posts to create a tangled rooftop of sweet-scented blooms.
“Let’s see.” Pam takes a seat and angles herself toward Ellen, who mirrors her. Their knees are almost close enough to touch. “Grew up in a small town outside of Austin. Got my bachelor’s in English from UT, to my parents’ deep and never-ending chagrin.”
“Which part didn’t they like, if you don’t mind me asking?” Ellen tilts her head to the side, curiosity etched across her pretty features.
“Take your pick. It was bad enough their only daughter wanted to go to college–because a woman’s place is always in the home, of course,” Pam rolls her eyes, “But she also had to go and pick a quote-unquote ‘useless’ degree.”
“It’s not useless,” Ellen says sincerely, once again surprising Pam.
“Thanks, but I know it’s not exactly practical. I mean, not like an engineering degree or anything.”
“Engineering’s overrated.”
Pam wrinkles her nose, incredulous. “Says the woman who’ll be up in space mapping out the universe in a few years.”
“I’m serious,” Ellen insists. “Outer space is exciting, don’t get me wrong. But sometimes I think people get too caught up in the external, when there’s still so much left unexplored within humanity’s…” Her hands grasp at the air as if the right words hang invisibly around them. “I don’t know… innerspace? And the arts navigate it.”
Lips parted, Pam is left speechless and, if she’s honest, a bit flattered.
“God, that’s cheesy, isn’t it?” Ellen winces.
“No, that’s…” Without thinking, Pam reaches out and brushes her fingers against Ellen’s knee. “That’s really sweet. Thank you.”
Gaze drifting down toward the brief touch, Ellen clears her throat and looks out toward the water, seemingly fascinated by a family of ducks floating along the surface. “You’re welcome.” A light shade of pink dusts her cheeks. “And so you ended up in Houston because?”
“Isn’t it every little girl’s dream to sling drinks in a NASA watering hole?”
Ellen chuckles. “Definitely was mine. Except I wanted to do it on the moon.”
Pam shakes her head, amused, very much enjoying this playful side of the normally staid astronaut candidate. Truthfully, Pam’s not even sure herself anymore why she’s remained in Houston. What had seemed like a good idea after college has slowly faded in the wake of her ongoing indecision about what exactly she wanted in life.
“I figured Houston’s not too far from home,” she finally says. “But far enough away that I can figure out my shit without my parents’ constant disappointment.”
Ellen ducks her head, dark hair partly obscuring the wistful expression on her face. “I get that.”
Pam stifles a sudden and unexpected urge to smooth Ellen’s hair back behind her ear. She leans back and crosses her arms, to prevent herself from doing something monumentally stupid. “Are you saying your parents aren’t thrilled their daughter could be the first American woman in space?”
“Yes,” Ellen answers candidly. “And no. My parents are definitely proud. Supportive, even. But I also know they wouldn’t complain if I just settled down, got married, and helped with the family business.” Her voice is soft in its resignation, and Pam can’t help but empathize.
“Expectations are a bitch, aren’t they?”
Ellen laughs, the sound musical, and Pam’s heart throbs without warning. “Yes,” she turns her head to capture Pam’s gaze. “Yes, they are.”
Ellen’s always been pretty–Pam’s not blind. But in the sunlight filtering through the canopy above them, she’s particularly radiant, and Pam quickly forces herself to tamp down on the warmth spreading through her chest. This isn’t the right time or place, and most definitely isn’t the right person, for those sort of feelings.
“I, um, I’m glad I bumped into you today,” Pam says to fill the silence stretching slowly between them, self-consciously brushing her bangs to the side.
“Me too.” Ellen looks out over the water once again, wistful. “I had no idea this was even here.”
“It’s not like you all have a lot of time to sightsee,” Pam points out. “But if you ever need a tour guide, you know where to find me.”
“Not sure about a tour guide,” Ellen glances at her, almost shyly, out of the corner of her eye, “but I wouldn’t say no to a friend.”
Pam pretends to mull it over. “Yeah, I guess I could put up with you. Until you move to space, that is.”
“Oh, well, thanks for doing me that favor.”
“Don’t mention it, but don’t think this means you’ll get free drinks or anything.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” Ellen says with a gentle smile.
Pam returns it, trying but failing to ignore just how light her heart feels.

Chapter Three
Tumblr media
‘So how did you two meet?’
You almost choke on your chicken. You knew you were bound to face these questions sometime in the evening, but you hadn’t expected it this soon. Taking a copious gulp of the wine, you look over to your youngest sister who has her eyes fixed on Loki.
He comes to your rescue immediately. ‘I met her during an operation.’
'So you guys work together!’ your brother interjects. ‘How come you never mentioned it, Y/N?’
‘W-we work in different departments,' you say, irritated by the sudden case of nerves that overwhelms you.
‘Which is why it seemed almost unbelievable that I met her,' Loki grins.
‘Unbelievable indeed,’ snorts your brother. He is the worst, never losing a chance to tease you. ‘How are you two even...I mean,' he gesticulates in your general direction. ‘She is...’
Your sister-in-law frowns and jabs him in the chest.
‘Way out of my league?’ counters Loki. You could not have been more grateful to him at that moment. He gives you a small smile which you return.
You brother seems taken aback. That was definitely not what he was getting at. He blinks stupidly, his mouth slightly gaping.
‘I don’t believe it either,’ Loki continues. ‘She’s kind, intelligent, charming, loyal, not to mention beautiful. I was captivated the first time I saw her.’
Now that was just laying it a bit too thick. As everyone turns to you with varied amount of surprise and disbelief on their faces, you roll your eyes and snort. ‘C’mon, the first time? The first time I saw you I thought you hated me! You barely uttered two words in my presence.’
‘I was nervous. I did not know what to say!’
You see the twinkle of mischief in his eyes. He’s enjoying this. You take refuge in the food to hide the rising heat in your cheeks.
‘How long have you been together?’ asks your father.
‘About six months—.’
'Two months—’
You whip around at Loki just as he turns to you. This is not good. This is so not good. This is exactly what you have been dreading.
Panicking, you blurt out the first thing that comes to you. ‘It’s complicated.’
All fall silent. You gulp, realising you have just dug your grave a little deeper. A tiny part of your brain is already going you're doomed, you’re doomed, you’re doomed to the tune of the William Tell overture.
Loki raises a brow at you before expertly taking over. ‘It is not complicated, actually. I asked her out about six months back. We went on a couple of dates and she finally made it official only two months ago.’
‘Only two months!’ exclaims your father. ‘Y/N, you better not let this fellow go! I like him.’
Tumblr media
'I'm afraid it’s the other way round, sir,' grins Loki.
Your father looks at you with sudden pride. And even though you feel a tiny prick of guilt at the deception, for once the absence of that veiled disappointment in his eyes lets you breathe freely.
‘Come now, dear. Leave the poor kids alone,' your mother says, passing the mashed potatoes around. ‘Don’t mind him, he’s always too nosy,' she waves her hand at Loki, then smiles. ‘I’m so glad Y/N brought you to dinner, Lucas. We were starting to fear she’d never be able to bring anyone at all!’
That stings. You have always known yourself to be an uninteresting, quiet girl, not attractive enough to get the attention of guys. But hearing the same sentiment affirmed by a parent does strike a major blow to one’s self esteem. You try to wash down the hurt with another gulp of wine. It is beginning to take effect.
Tumblr media
You’re hardly registering what everybody around you are talking about. Your sister is in deep conversation with Loki, while you mother nods from time to time. Your brother and father are arguing over the rising oil prices and your sister-in-law is adding her bits every now and then.
Your family means well. But sometimes they are too oblivious to your feelings. Or in your brother’s case, too callous to care.
A sudden touch on the back of your hand makes you look. Loki's hand is casually placed beside yours. You wonder at the accidental brush of his fingers. Was it accidental? Or was it his way of letting you know that he’s there for you? Or perhaps it’s just your fancy?
Somehow his presence calms you. The dinner threatens to be long but it doesn’t feel suffocating anymore.
You let the general buzz wash over you once again.
***
The journey back is quieter than is comfortable. You shift uneasily in your seat, taking quick peeks at Loki's profile. He looks out into the dark, leaning against the seat in a lazy grace. Yet his jaws clench from time to time. He’s upset.
It must have been the kiss.
Everything was going fine. You had dinner. Loki had managed to charm his way into your parents’ good graces. Even your brother seemed impressed. Your mother was trying to wheedle you into staying the night, as usual. There was eggnog and homemade cookies and loads more fun than you’d have expected. Then just as you were leaving, your sister had laughingly pointed at the mistletoe.
You had felt Loki go still beside you just as your eyes landed on the bit of green hanging from the doorframe. You eyes flew to his face. His eyes have grown wide, a panicky look taking over with every passing second. Somehow you knew he didn’t want anyone to see him like this, to see his mask drop.
And your family was waiting expectantly. So you did the only thing that you could come up with in your wine-soaked mind.
You pulled him down for a kiss. You heard his sharp intake of shock at the sudden assault but there was no other way you could think of to distract him.
Now huddled in a corner and thinking of all the ways it could have been avoided, you’re trying to broach the subject without embarrassing the both of you. Perhaps it’s better to pretend it never happened? But wouldn’t that be cowardly? Should you apologise now when it’s all fresh and just get it over with? You continue to steal glances. He has not stirred for the past couple of minutes. You take a fortifying breath and open your mouth.
'Don't.’
You blink, taken by surprise. ‘I—what?’
‘Don’t say anything embarrassing.’
‘I was just—’
He finally turns to you, his eyes devoid of any emotions. ‘Consider your apology accepted. I’m not someone to hold it against you.' He pauses, his gaze sharpening suddenly, ‘That is assuming you do not throw yourself at every stranger like that each time you’re inebriated.’
You frown. ‘Excuse me, sir, but I highly disagree on three points. First of all, I am not drunk. Secondly, I do not throw myself at anyone. Thirdly, I was trying to rescue your apparently ungrateful ass.’
‘I beg your pardon?’
The wine definitely must have loosened your tongue.
Loki glares at you. You glare back. You might have kissed him without his permission—which given another choice you’d have heartily avoided—but this is unacceptable. Throwing yourself at strangers? The nerve!
Loki is the first to give up the staring match. ‘I do not need rescuing, irrespective of any situation.’’
'Oh you mean situations like the one where you freeze every time you see a mistletoe wreath?’ you turn away with a huff. ‘Noted. Next time, I’ll simply leave you to your own devices.’ So much for apologising.
The scene outside is an unending stretch of white. The snow looks like confetti falling in slow motion.
After almost fifteen minutes, you feel him straighten in his seat.
‘Please accept my apology. I’m grateful for what you did back there.’
You wait for him to say something more. He does after a moment.
‘That plant reminds me of someone. Someone very close to me.’
‘Who?’
'My brother. Bauldr.’
‘I never knew you were three.’
'We were.’
Tumblr media
The slight catch in his voice grabs your attention. You have never seen him this unguarded before. It feels like he is almost human. You lightly touch his wrist.
'I'm sorry for your loss.’
He looks up in surprise. ‘I never said—’
You smile sadly. ‘You didn’t have to. I’m not foreign to the heartbreak of losing a sibling.’
‘Your sibling?’
‘My sister. She was older to me by five years.’ You laugh at a sudden memory. ‘She was the prankster of our family. There was this one time when—’
Loki listens quietly to all the funny incidents you recount, nodding from time to time. You tell him about the one time she filled the entire surface of your bedroom with sticky notes, about the day she dressed up as your grandmother and made you believe she was actually visiting at five in the morning. About the holidays that never felt dull because she was always coming up with new games. About the zeal with which she charged into Life.
'—and our cat never ever went near that Christmas tree again. She would take one look at the tree, then one look at my sister, and promptly plant herself behind the sofa for the rest of the evening.’ You chuckle in fond remembrance.
‘She sounds delightful.’ Loki smiles for the first time in a while.
‘She was. There was never a day without laughter when she was around. When she died,' trying hard not to let your voice crack, you pause. ‘it was as if the laughter was stolen from us.’
‘After she was gone, our family changed completely. Dad packed away all her things and for almost four years Mom even stopped acknowledging us other siblings. I was thirteen, my other siblings mere kids. We could barely process the change. When Mom finally came around, it was as if my sister never existed.’ You can feel your eyes prickling and quickly blink away a tear.
‘Perhaps it was her way of coping,’ Loki murmurs. ‘People cope with grief in different ways.’
His face has softened somewhat. He exhales. 'They say Time heals every wound. You think you’re over the pain. And then you see something that reminds you of them and everything comes crushing back.’
‘Does the mistletoe bring back memories?’
‘Not pleasant ones.’ He notices your expectant look but chooses to ignore it. You sit in silence, each lost in memories of a time when you were young and yet to experience the cruelties of Life.
The rest of the journey is quiet, though not as unpleasant as before.
Back in your room, tired and drowsy you realise you have forgotten to thank him for the evening. He had been a huge help. He had been thoughtful, witty, charming. Hell, he had even managed to bring back a little bit of cheer in your family.
Loki was not what you had expected. There was more to him than meets the eye. You have had just a glimpse of a different Loki, a softer, more emotional Loki who told funny stories to put someone at ease, who understood pain and knew exactly what to say to comfort someone, and perhaps for the first time you wanted to discover more. You had parted on good terms, the chilliness thawed a little. Perhaps some day down the line, you’d end up as trusted allies, if not really friends.
As you curl into a comfy bundle under the blanket with a sigh and close your eyes, your last thoughts are it was not a bad Christmas after all.
To be continued...

Survey #483
“wasn’t faded, not jaded, just a kid with a pad and a pen and a big imagination”
Do you want to sue someone right now? Er, no. Have you ever been in level 10 pain (the worst pain imaginable)? I cannot describe the pain I was in when I had an infected cyst drained by applying pressure to it, and there is NO WAY in Heaven or Hell that I was numbed enough for the procedure. I was shrieking and sobbing and cursing like I was being tortured. I sure as fuck consider it "level 10." What was the last part of nature you took a picture of? A flower. Which family member’s birthday is closest to yours? My youngest niece's. Which holiday is your birthday closest to? Valentine's Day. Have you ever tried seaweed? Yes, and it was disgusting. Have you made your own mask to help prevent the spread of the virus? I just use your typical blue one you get from the doctor's office. It works perfectly fine, so I don't see reason to spend money on a unique one for me personally. What is the ugliest animal known to man (in your opinion)? Blobfish alsdkjfaklsdjflwke Describe the most romantic moment you've ever had. No, because I WILL cry. If you were an astronaut, which planet would you visit? Can I pick Saturn AND Jupiter? I mean, they're neighbors, lol. What's one word you want people to use to describe you? Caring or strong. What show did you last watch? Squid Game. It is SO good, like I haven't been this into a show in a LONG time. Girt and I finished it recently and I already hope there's another season. Name three things in your room that others probably don’t have in theirs: A snake, a limited edition Silent Hill: Revelation Japanese flyer, and a massive collection of meerkat plushies. What’s something you can cook or bake like a pro? Nothing. What deodorant do you wear? Secret. Besides sleeping, what do you do in bed? Sigh. Essentially everything. I'm still pissed as fuck how trying to stay in the spare room during the day went. If you smoke weed, what do you usually do after you get high? If you don’t, what would you do if everyone around you were smoking? I don't smoke. I've been in the situation where everyone around me was high though, and I just kinda sat around awkwardly. Have you ever been to any of the places featured on Man vs. Food? Is there any you’d like to go to? I don't watch that show, so I wouldn't know. What are three good things going on in your life right now? What are three things that you would change? Good things: 1.) I'm in a healthy, happy relationship; 2.) I've lost a couple pounds and I'm sure will drop more without soda; and 3.) uhhhh... I can't think of another. Things I would change: 1.) my mental health; 2.) my physical health (or just at LEAST the position my legs are in); and 3.) me being jobless and just generally doing nothing. Does the person you like have any flaws? Recently, he actually warned me about one of his biggest: he pretty much never knows what to say in serious situations. I was venting to him about something, and while I didn't think about it at all, he wanted to let me know that he's bad with words when it comes to certain situations and instead acts through like hugs and stuff. I was just glad he was there to listen without complaint, so I didn't mind. I do consider it a flaw, though. Has anyone ever given you a ring? Why? Yeah; Jason just gave me a pretty ring for our anniversary one year. I don't have it anymore though. If you ruled your own country, what type of government would it have? I'm really not educated enough on most government types to answer this with confidence. From what I DO know (which is extremely little), I support democracy. What was your last serious conversation about? It was honestly the sweetest thing: I was talking about my weight issues w/ Girt, including the fact I was finally losing some, and of course he was super supportive of that, but he was concerned he didn't make it clear enough that he'd love me completely regardless of my weight. Called me a gem no matter what and I deadass nearly sobbed. ;___; Is there a city that you have a particular fondness for? If so, what city is it and why? Chicago, I guess. It's the only big city I've been to and it really star-struck me with just how different and extravagant it is in comparison to what I'm used to. Are there any gnomes in your yard? No. I've never understood or liked gnome decor. If you had to spend one day in any movie storyline, which one would it be? Uh, I would say Alice in Wonderland, but I'd prefer a queen not being after my head. Living in the universe would be cool, though. Who was the last person close to you that died? Did you cry? Jason's mom. I cried for days and days. Do you know anyone who owns a boat? My dad, and I'm sure I know many others. Here in the country, you've got plenty, plenty of people who enjoy going out on the water fishing. What’s the worst name your mom has ever called you? I don't know. What’s your most recent obsession? Squid Game is litty What was the last type of bird you remember seeing? A robin, I think. List all the things on your bedside table right now. A lamp, a scented wax warmer, my big water bottle, a glass of V8, a little Spyro figure, and some plug outlets attached to an extension cord. Who is the biggest show-off you know? I don't know. I try not to associate with those kinds of people. Do you take the pickle off your burgers? No, I love pickles. What colour is your bed frame? Brown. Have you ever kissed someone you met that day? No. Ever talked to someone that was drunk? Yeah. Did you have a good birthday this year? Yeah. Would you ever want to swim with the sharks? Nah, I don't think so. Ever given a cop an attitude? No. Have you and your current/last significant other ever discussed your sexual histories? No; we're not at "that point" yet so I don't think it's really necessary. Have your religious beliefs stayed the same since you were a child? Definitely not. Are you named after someone? No. Who do you need to forgive? Myself, really. My disgust of and hate towards myself really isn't doing me aaaaaaany good. What is one thing you admire about each of your parents? My mother is the most selfless human being on this planet, especially when it comes to her kids, but really just people in general. It is honestly incredible. For my dad, I am extremely proud of and admire his recovery from severe alcoholism. Addiction is no fucking joke, but he beat it. Who is someone who drains your energy? My nephew, ha ha. But I love him to death and beyond. Do you spend more time on your own or with others? Are you happy with that? I'm nearly always on my own, and I like it sometimes, sometimes not. I know I'm alone too much. Do you know anyone who has been diagnosed with autism? My niece, a friend's daughter, and I KNOW there are others. I know a surprising number of people, just no other ones are coming to mind atm. Who was the first person you had a sleepover with? Are you still in touch with that person today? My first best friend Brianna. We're friends on Facebook, but we don't actually talk. Could you cook an entire Christmas or Thanksgiving Dinner entirely on your own with no help from other people or recipe books? God no. As a teenager, what did you spend most of your pocket money or allowance on? It was very seldom I had money, so barely anything comes to mind. I guess a snack or drink from a gas station visit or something. Are there any common “popular” foods that you don’t particularly like yourself? Have people ever told you you’re odd/strange for disliking that particular food? Oh boy, there's lots. I don't like fried chicken, to name just one that shocks people, especially with where I'm from. As for the second question, oh yes. Likewise, are there are any commonly hated foods that you love? Uh, probably not. I'm WAY too picky. Do you own a lot of store loyalty cards? I don't. What did you have for breakfast this morning? Kix cereal. Do you have any scented candles lit at the moment? Not right now. When was the last time you left your house? When will be the next time you go out? Yesterday; Miss Tobey took Mom and me out for lunch at Cracker Barrel. Ummm I'm not sure about the next time I'll leave the house. Who as the last person you argued or bickered with? Mom. Do you have anything planned for the rest of the day? If you’re about to go to bed, what are your plans for tomorrow? Girt's coming over later. Why did you last attend a doctors’ appointment? I got a Covid test; for some reason, you needed a full-blown appointment for it where I went. Negative, btw. Does it bother you when dogs lick you? Nah. Have you ever lost a nail completely for any reason? What happened? Not completely, no. What color eyes do your pet(s) have? Venus' are black, and Roman's are blue. What’s your favorite way to eat chicken? As chicken tenders. Do you prefer cow's milk or another type of milk? Cow's. I really, really hate that it's the only kind I like, because the dairy industry is disgusting and I don't want to support it, but goddamn am I so picky. When was the last time you changed any of your piercing jewelry? Wow, eons. If you could have a years’ worth of something for free, what would you pick? Uh, money? What have you found the hardest about the current pandemic? I don't really leave my house like, almost ever, so it hasn't affected me very much. Nevertheless, the thing that I've had the hardest time with is handling ignorant fucking people that don't trust people with Doctorate degrees. And what about the easiest? Has anything improved in your life because of what’s happened? Well, I like being able to just pick up groceries from the car, ig. If you have multiple pets, do they get along with each other? Are they related or even the same species? They both ignore each other, really. Roman will watch Venus slither around occasionally, but not often. Do you have any plans for Christmas yet? I'm sure we'll go to Ashley's place first and then Dad's later that day or the next day, like always. Are there any accents that you really struggle to understand? Heavy Southern ones. Have you ever tried any of those meal replacement shakes? Yeah, I actually really like the Equate chocolate one. What’s your favorite thing to take photographs of? Are you actually any good at photography? Nature and animals, though I don't really get many opportunities for the latter. I'd like to think I am, since it's what I WANT my career to be... What gifts are you hoping to get for your next birthday (or Christmas, whichever one is coming up next)? Monetary help with Venus' future terrarium that I've been talking about for fucking months, as well as help with new glasses. Maybe it's selfish, but it kinda sucks man, I'm being an adult and focusing on the things I badly need and won't be asking for anything for my personal pleasure, like a PS4, new laptop (mine is starting to have problems, yay), or another tattoo. Do you suffer from any form of motion sickness? No. Do you contribute regularly to any Facebook groups at all? Not by making posts, no. I just "like" stuff and rarely comment. When was the last time you weighed yourself? Were you happy with the numbers you saw? A few days ago, and no. I never am. Do you have any sort of “secret” goals or dreams, where you think about doing something a lot, but haven’t told anyone about it or actually made steps to achieve it? Maybe something you aren’t quite serious about, but still like to consider? Hm... I'm sure there's something, but idk right now. Does your town/area have a farmer’s market? Do you ever buy your vegetables there rather than grocery store? Yeah, they're common 'round here. I've been to one once or twice. The fresh fruit, like the strawberries, are THE best. Is there something that people complain about that just makes you roll your eyes because you think is not a big deal and you would gladly trade your own issues for it? "I can't breathe with this mask. :(" Shut up. I assure you you'd rather breathe through a mask than try to with Covid. I understand that a small percentage of the population really can't tolerate masks, which is fine, but goddamn.

Thanksgiving w/ Mr. Stevens & the Udakus
SoftBoi!Erik Killmonger x Black Reader
A/N: Hey, friends! This is my first time writing for Erik so drag me if need be lol. It’s just a quick imagine that I needed to get out since I was feeling lonely today. Let me know what you think! Love y’all; Happy Thanksgiving!
You were stirred out of your sleep by the alarm on your phone. 8:30 pm. It was the day before thanksgiving and after prepping all morning, you decided to treat yourself to a nap. Cooking, prepping, and generally being awake was exhausting around this time of year.
Every Thanksgiving was the same with your family; you’d plan everything by yourself, set the table by yourself, and force people to cook with you. Everyone wanted to eat but no one everyone wanted to help. You always felt alone, even when you were at the dinner table surrounded by family. Be it seasonal depression or a lack of holiday committment from your family, you were sure you were done with the holiday season. But not this year. This year, you had Erik.
Here you were a year and a half into your relationship, staying with him and his family in Wakanda. It took you a while to get used the to the new scenery; and the fact that you were dating a fomerly lost prince.
“Yo, cakes, you up yet?! I heard your alarm go off,” you heard the prince yell from across the room. You groaned in response, hiding your face in your pillow.
Erik stripped the covers of the bed and smacked your mostly bare ass.
“Erik,” you yelped,” why do you have to be so rough, damn!”
“I’m sorry, cakes, but you gotta get up; we got cooking to do,” he said, sitting next to you.
You sat up and pouted as he rubbed your leg.
“Daddy, I’m tired-“
“No, don’t ‘daddy’ me; unless you tryna get fucked right now, I suggest you get your cute ass up and follow me to kitchen,” Erik said sternly.
“Firstly, I’m always tryna get fucked,” you stated, smiling. He laughed, shaking his head.
“You’re a fool. Come on, y/n.” He said kissing your lips softly.
After putting on a onesie and taking off your bonnet, you followed Erik to the kitchen. His cousins Shuri and T’Challa were already in there, doing there best at following the instructions Erik had given them. Even queen-mother was helping; mixing the ingredients for the sweet potato pie.
“Goodmorning, sis,” Shuri yelled,” I see my cousin has decided to wake you up the proper way.” You tried your best to keep your laugh in but once she started, so did you.
“Fuck that supposed to mean?” Erik chided, mean mugging her from across the kitchen. Shuri shrugged her shoulders as she continued to peel the softened sweet potatoes.
“Nothing,” you giggled, rubbing his arms as he cut up some vegetables.
You love the way his scarred biceps looked in a tight white tshirt; the apron he wore was even more excruciatingly sexy than it needed to be and you knew you’d have a hard time focusing.
“You make food prep hella sexy, N’Jadaka,” you whispered. His gold fangs flashed as he smiled.
“You better stop playing before I take you to the bathroom, y/n,” Erik said, biting his lip.
“Alright, alright, put me in coach.”
“Aight, go help T with the mac and cheese. Then come back over here and you can mix the turkey drippings into the dressing; got it, cakes?” You nodded as Erik instructed you then went over to gather the cheeses to help T’Challa.
“Why do you call y/n ‘cakes’?” T’Challa asked innocently. You laughed quietly, placing the cheeses next to T’Challa’s workspace.
“Nigga, you don’t see all that cake she got? Matter fact, nevermind; I don’t need you looking.” Erik said, shaking his head.
“N’Jadaka, please do not discuss y/n in that matter while we are cooking,” Ramonda reprimanded.
“My bad, auntie,” Erik said shooting T’Challa an incredulous look.
“It’s okay, T. It’s an AAVE term,” you consoled him.
“It means she has a big ass,” Shuri said nonchalantly.
“Shuri, what did I just tell your cousin?!” Ramonda yelled.
“Sorry, mother!”
After putting the mac and cheese in the oven and mixing the dressing, you headed to the dining hall to see how the tablescape was coming along. You took your time at each seat, adjusting and folding the napkins and place settings.
“Is everything to your liking, y/n?”
You looked up to see the queen-mother looking at you lovingly.
“Everything is so beautiful, queen-mother. I’m elated to be here. Everything and everyone is so open and warm and inviting,” you said as she took a seat next to you. She placed her hand on yours, smiling warmly.
“I’m glad you feel safe enough to share this holiday with us. You’ve brought such happiness with you. Especially to N’Jadaka; this means a lot to him,” Ramonda noted.
“Here me when I say this, Y/N; you are filling a void in his heart that no one ever could. For so long he was lost and isolated; even after the challeneg had commenced he never celebrated like this until you. His love for you is so apparrent, he practically floats into the room when you are by his side,” Ramonda said, laughing. You laughed as well, looking down at your hand.
“Thank you for keeping him happy. I appreciate you. May your love span a thousand years. I will you see you for the festivities tomorrow; good night my dear,” she sighed, squeezing your hand.
“Good night, queen-mother.”
***
You heard Erik’s alarm go off at 6am and groaned. You felt him stir beneath you and you held on to him tighter.
“Baby, I gotta go check the food,” he yawned, rubbing your back.
“It can wait,” you said, yawning in response.
“I’ll bring you back a taste,” Erik bribed.
And with that, you rolled off of him with a quickness, causing him to chuckle. You drifted back to sleep for what felt like 5 seconds before Erik shook you awake. Once you sat up, he handed you a plate of dressing, a small piece of slow cooked pork, and a fork. You practically went to heaven as you took your first bite.
“Damn.. I still got it,” you moaned, silently congratulating yourself on how well seasoned the dressing was. Erik walked around to his side of the bed and shuffled through his drawer.
“If you’re looking for your kimoyo beads, you left them on the bathroom counter,” you informed him with your mouth full of dressing. You looked up to see him staring at you with his hands behind his back. He shuffled side to side and rolled his shoulders; it was telling. Erik usually did this when he was nervous. Or if he was about to ask you a favor.
“Alright, what you want?” you asked him.
“Damn, y/n, why you always think I want something? Why you gotta be like that?” He was stalling. But for what?
“Boy, stop playing and tell me what you want!” You watched as he knelt before you with a small black box in his hand.
“Aight then, cakes, I’ma tell you what I want. I want to spend every Thanksgiving and Christmas with you. I want to wake up knowing you’ll be next to me every morning. I want you to mother my children and help me put them in they place when they fuck up. I want to love you until the end of my days and that’s all I wanted since I first laid eyes on you in that record store; with your pretty brown eyes lighting up at the sight of that old ass Earth, Wind, & Fire vinyl. I want you, y/n, and only you. Forever.”
You watched with teary eyes as he opened the tiny black velvet box that held a black opal ring; lined with diamonds and vibranium scalloping. You placed your plate of food on the end table and reached forward to hold Erik’s face in your hands.
“I need to hear it. I need you to ask me, E,” you cried softly.
“Y/N, will you be my wife?” Erik asked, searching your eyes for an answer.
“Yes, N’Jadaka; I will be your wife til the end of time!” You were full on crying now, kissing all over his face as he struggled to hold in his emotions.
“Cakes, you gone let this stay in the box or..,” he trailed off, chuckling as you showered him with kisses. You held out your hand and he slid the ring onto your finger.
“There you are, Mrs. Stevens,” he smirked, wiping the tears that had fell on his face. You kissed his full lips passionately, wanting to savor every moment.
“I love you, N’Jadaka,” you hummed.
“I love you more, cakes,” Erik said, kissing from your cheek to your neck. You heard a knock and the door cracked open to reveal Shuri smiling giddly.
“Good, she said yes! I was beginning to think you had chickened out,” Shuri noted, clapping her hands.
“Nigga, you couldn’t have waited like I told you to? I’m tryna have a moment here, damn,” Erik berated.
“Aye, be glad I kept your secret til now; you were taking too long! I almost told her!” Shuri yelled in her defense. You laughed as you kissed your fiance’s cheek; taking in the banter of your soon to be family.
Best Thanksgiving ever.

Order Feast
This took a week to write and its kinda rushed but oh well. Chismest is having their annual feast and Miriam and Audrey decide to celebrate with Kawn and Boni. (there is some bardriam so hecc,,)
Audrey woke up to a heavenly smell wafting through the air. She was sprawled across her cot in her shed. She should order a better bed because her back was killing her and she did not get consistent sleep. She realized that the sun had barely even started to rise. She brought her attention back to the aroma. It smelled of pastries and donuts, and boy was she hungry. She got up, cursing herself for sticking with a cot this long and got ready for the day. She grabbed her boots and gloves and put on her scabbard and sword. Lastly, she wrapped her beloved golden scarf around her neck, giving off a dramatic flair as the ends fluttered down.
She headed out the door and went immediately to the chicken coop and grabbed the bag of chicken feed and filled up the feed bucket for her beloved chicken Marmalade. The hen was fast asleep, so She continued to where the smell was coming from: Kawn’s House.
She opened the door and was greeted to the sight of a table with plates full of the most gorgeous pastries she had ever set her eyes on. She couldn’t remember the name of any of them but they looked delicious. Immediately, she went over and tried to grab one, but suddenly…
“Audrey NO!”
Audrey immediately stopped and looked over, it was kawn. They were wearing their greenish-white long sleeved shirt, but their capelet and cap were still on the hat rack. Instead they were wearing a green apron that matched his pants. They weren’t wearing any hat, but they had a hair net on. They looked kinda ridiculous like that.
“Kawn? What the heck are you doing??”
“It’s almost Lights’ Eve! I’m making pastries to bring for everyone when we start setting up the tree!”
“...What?” Audrey had no idea what any of that meant, but Kawn had an exhausted look on their face.
“...Did...Did I not tell you?” Kawn looked confused and stressed.
“...No.”
“Oh Eya’s sweet chords…” Kawn paced a bit messing with his apron.
“That means I prolly didn’t tell Mim!! Ouugh I don’t have a ride to Chismest!!”
“...Can I have a pastry?”
“Wh- I mean… That is really important to the holiday… but… Oh! Here, have one of these, I was practicing these for Light’s eve and I was just going to give them to the mayor as a gift!” Kawn proceeded to pull out a plate of these triangular shaped donuts with a cinnamon sugar glaze smeared upon the treat. Audrey quickly snatched one up.
“Aw heck yeah now you’re talking!” she proceeded to take a bite and was shocked by the fact it was cream filled. She looked at the cream as she finished her bite, The cream had blue and red dye swirling within, it wasn’t fully mixed to be purple. There was also a fruity filling.
“Wh-”
“It’s a light cake!” Kawn beamed, proud of their work. “The Baron family is in charge of hosting Order’s feast, Boni is the bard of Chismest so They’re resting til the feast! As the only one who remembers how to make Light cakes in my family, It is my duty to make them.” kawn was now bouncing slightly, excited to share their family tradition with Audrey.
“Wait, your last name is Baron?” Audrey choked back a laugh as she finished her light cake.
“Uhm… Ye?” Kawn tilted their head slightly.
Audrey swallowed her donut. “How did you not know that The Baron was your Dad??”
“...Well Baron is a title, I didn’t think it was his real name.”
“Ok yeah that’s fair.” Audrey thought for a moment. “Hey, can i come with you to the feast?”
Kawn’s face lit up. “Yeah!! It’ll be so much fun!! You can help set up the tree in the town centre!!”
“Alright I’ll go get Miriam to get you to Chismest, She can come back and pick me up.”
“Wait I thought you could fast travel?”
“Eh I wanna experience a broom ride.”
She would soon regret her decision.
She was miles in the sky, clinging to Miriam for dear life. Miriam had the biggest smug grin on her face, probably enjoying the panic audrey was in.
“Wow, so much for the ‘Brave hero!’” She cackled.
Audrey couldn’t find the strength to reply. Instead she just held onto Miriam tighter.
Miriam’s smirk grew, and she turned to the terrified ex-Hero.
“We’re almost there, better hold on tight!” she called, with the most devilish grin anyone had seen.
Audrey whimpered in fear, and managed to tighten her hold on Miriam. The witch was surprised she could even breathe at this point. She was living for it.
She pointed the broom down and dove towards the town below. Audrey let out a loud and shrill shriek of terror as she squinted her eyes close, waiting for the nightmare to be over.
Suddenly Audrey heard a malicious cackle.
Audrey opened her eyes to see that she was in the town centre, no one was there yet but there was a table that had all the sweets that kawn made. The witch was cackling so hard that Audrey questioned if she even had lungs. She would have yelled at her, or have gotten angry, but she was still shaking like a leaf. She shakily and carefully got off the broom, and silently thanked Eya for letting the broom ride end quickly.
Suddenly the two heard singing. It was a very beautiful duet, a wordless melody that drifted through the air. The Ex-Hero and The Witch looked over to see Kawn, and their sibling Boni.
Boni was a tall and fairly buff figure, and they wore a light cyan sweater, a sea green apron, and turquoise pants. Their beanie was knitted from hand and was the same turquoise as the pants, though its brim was a bluish green. The beanie was also decorated with a single red flower with a yellow inside.
Audrey pondered if they were like Kawn and just had a multitude of the same outfits because that is the exact same outfit Boni wore when they first met in the Lumber town in Xia-Tian.
However, Kawn wasn’t wearing their usual outfit, instead they were wearing a spring green sweater, their hand knitted beanie was a darker green but with a mint brim. The pants matched the color of the beanie. Both of the siblings were wearing boots designed for cold weather and thick leather gloves.  Audrey and Miriam noted that, despite Kawn being 5’7” tall (taller than the two of them) they looked short next to their older sibling who was 6’7”.
Boni and Kawn seemed to be lost in their song, joyously walking to the town Centre. Suddenly, Kawn let out an excited squeak and ran over to their friends. Audrey barely had any time to react to Kawn running over and hugging her, before they turned to Miriam and offered a hug. Miriam was glad that Kawn learned that she hated surprise hugs, but she was a tad jealous of the running hug Audrey got. She decided not to dwell on it and hugged The Bard, who sang out a short and sweet melody.
Kawn backed off and smiled at the two.
“How was your flight?”
Miriam smirked evilly.
“Oh it was just fantastic.”
“Ugh… I’m sticking to fast travel.” Audrey groaned.
Kawn felt like something happened, but before they could ask, Boni stepped up.
“Bitty? What is she doing here?” they asked. They were glaring down at The Ex-Hero that burnt their sibling to a crisp. They weren’t as forgiving as Kawn.
Audrey shrunk under the glare of the giant bard, she was sure her days were numbered.
“I uhm...I’m just-”
“Audrey and Miriam are here to celebrate with us!” Kawn quickly piped up. They seemed oblivious to the tension, and Audrey was about to suggest she go home to Langtree when Kawn continued.
“Why don’t you go get check if everyone is ready to set up the tree?” Miriam could tell kawn was panicking, their breathing had sped up a bit. She had gotten used to the small signs that showed they were upset.
Boni gave Audrey a tired glare before looking back at Kawn. “yeah that sounds like a good idea…” They gave a slight smile and headed off.
Kawn sat there for a second, and Miriam watched their breathing slow back down to a normal pace.
“Guess Bon-bon hasn’t forgiven you huh?” The bard gave a nervous chuckle.
“Can you blame them?” Miriam sneered, “You remember what Audrey did to you, and I know for a fact it still hurts!”
“Wait what!? Are we sure it’s not infected??” Audrey was now extremely concerned as she tried to check the scar.
“W-Woah Hey no no I’m fine!!” Kawn held the sweater down and hopped back, they were still smiling but even Audrey could tell that they were uncomfortable. “It doesn’t hurt Miriam!” They gave Miriam their best attempt at a comforting smile.
Miriam cocked an eyebrow, “Bet.” She grabbed some snow and rolled it into a ball and aimed for their chest.
“Woah WOAH WOAH HEY NOW LET”S TALK ABOUT THIS” Kawn started to sprint as the witch started to chase them on their broom.
Audrey watched the two run around the town square, Miriam was now using magick to form and chuck snowballs at the bard. While that chaos was happening, Audrey noticed a group of people. Well… “group.” It was three people, one of which being Boni. The other two were shorter than them but were also strong looking. One was carrying a pine tree, another was carrying lights, and Boni was carrying a generator for the lights.
Suddenly, the adrenaline from the broom ride wore off, and it prolly wasn’t helping that she had terrible sleep and an aching back, so it was no wonder Audrey suddenly felt exhausted. Kawn noticed this and was going to go over to check on her, but was pelted by a snowball.
“Ack!” the bard brushed off the snow from their head, “Audrey? You Ok?” Miriam frowned a bit, watching the hero.
“Ouuughh…” The hero groaned, before face-planting into the snow.
“AUDREY!!!!” Kawn ran over to their fallen friend.
“Mmmmsnnzzzz…”
“Oh…” Kawn frowned. “She must not have slept well last night.”
“We should just leave her there.”
“Miiiim! That’s mean!”
The commotion drew the attention of the older bard, who walked over and looked down at Audrey. They didn’t like Audrey, but they didn’t want her to catch a cold out here.
“You can take her to my room, you can put her in the guest room you’re using.” Boni sighed. Kawn nodded and struggled to pick their friend up. Boni may or may not have forgotten that Kawn wasn’t as strong as them. The younger bard slowly stumbled off with the sleepy adventurer to Boni’s house.
Boni sighed when Kawn left earshot, “I don’t understand it. Why are they so quick to forgive her?”
Miriam shrugged “I’m not sure, but it’s kinda annoying. But whatever, as long as they’re happy.”
Boni huffed and helped everyone set up the tree. They knew the first day would be uneventful as all the kids and families were busy at home making handmade decorations for the tree. Boni looked over at their two coworkers, Johann and Boris.
“You two go get the automatic watering fountain for the tree and some buckets of water, I’ll get started on the lights.”
Johann and Boris nodded and headed off.
Miriam huffed, “I can help with the lights, seems easy enough.”
“That would be great, thanks!”
After a few hours, the fountains were set up and half of the tree covered the tree when they ran out. Boni sent Boris and Johann to go get more lights. Eventually, Kawn and Audrey showed up again.
“Sorry about that! I also took a nap!” The bardlet sang as they skipped up. Audrey groggily lumbered after them.
“How are you so energetic all the time?”
“The trick is to be so upset with Eya that you enjoy life to spite her.”
“...Wait wh-”
“Oh! The tree looks lovely!”
Kawn completely ignored everyone’s look of concern as they skipped up to the tree and examined it. The only one who seemed unphased was Boni, but Audrey and Miriam figured she was used to this.
“Yeah we ran out of lights, I sent Boris and Johann to get more lights.” Boni said. They looked down at the smaller bard, before ruffling their hair. “I’m glad you didn’t sleep in a park bench, Bitty.”
“Ack!” Kawn stuck their tongue out before throwing some snow at their sibling.
“Oh is that what you wanna do?” Boni scooped up an enormous amount of snow and held it above the little bard, who squealed and ran.
“NOT AGAAAAAINNN!!!” Cried Kawn.
“YOU BROUGHT THIS UPON YOURSELF!!” Cackled Boni, keeping up behind them. Suddenly, Boris called Boni over. The two bards stopped and looked over.
“Hold up,” Boni said, dumping the snow on Kawn and walking over to Boris. The two talked for a bit before leaving.
“Ackpth” The bardlet dug themself free and playfully brushed themself off.
“So... ‘Bitty,” Audrey sneered, but her smug grin ended quickly as Kawn gave her the coldest glare she and the witch had ever seen from them.
The terrifying sight ended just as quickly as they looked over at the returning Boni and Boris, who were now carrying more lights, a ladder and another generator. Kawn ran over to help them, tho they weren’t very strong.
“...I...Is that normal?” Audrey asked.
“...Nope.” Miriam replied, “I’m not sure if I should be happy that Kawn is capable of being angry... or terrified.” she murmured.
The Ex-Hero only nodded in response before going to help.
They started to set up the generators and ladder, and Miriam got to work on her broom and Audrey got on the ladder and helped Miriam with the lights. It was getting late as they went along, and the wind had started to pick up. Audrey was reaching up to the top of the tree to put the last bit of lights when a gust of wind managed to blow her scarf off.
“NO!!” Audrey yelled before jumping off the ladder to try and catch it. The fabric slipped through her fingers as she fell quickly towards the ground. She did not think about how high up she was. Luckily, Boni was setting up a generator when she noticed the adventurer falling, and they quickly dove in to catch her so she would have a softer landing.
Audrey landed heavily in Boni’s arms, but still somewhat hit the hard cold floor, and immediately tried to get up and run after her scarf but Boni held onto her.
“What the hell are you doing!?” They cried, glaring down. However, their face quickly softened when they saw tears well in The small one’s eyes.
“MY SCARF!! I HAVE TO GET IT!!” She cried. Kawn was looking over from where they were fixing any broken lights, they started chasing after the scarf after they realized what had happened.
Boni wanted to stop them, but noticed Audrey wince when she put weight in her foot.
“Hey shh calm down, Kawn is going to go get your scarf...” Boni said, trying their best to pull off a soothing voice. Their sibling was much better at this, and it was hard because they knew what Audrey had done but...
They decided to put aside their feelings about Audrey for now.
They lifted up the protesting and sobbing hero, and looked over at Miriam who had floated down. Miriam started to say a snide comment about Audrey getting her comeuppance, but bit her tongue instead.
“I uh... How about I...” Miriam felt awkward trying to comfort the one who hurt both The bard and herself, “I Uhm... Brew up a potion to help soothe the pain. It seems she sprained her uhm... Ankle...” She shuffled nervously.
Boni nodded, “Boris, Johann, Take over for now, I’ll be right back. C’mon Miriam, let's get to my house.” The two headed home, Boni carrying the distressed ex-hero.
‘It’s just a scarf,’ Miriam thought ‘Why is she THIS upset about it?’
Then she remembered when her original broom broke. She was so mad and took her anger out on Kawn after they ran off and decided to help the witches that did that.
Eventually the three got to Boni’s and they set Audrey up with an ice-pack on her ankle, with a blanket, some of the sweets from the table and a nice mug of hot chocolate. Audrey still seemed upset but had calmed down.
Miriam was busy in the kitchen, with a bunch of ingredients for the potion. Boni had left an hour ago to finish setting up the tree. She looked outside and noticed that a blizzard had started up, and saw Johann and Boris heading home.
Suddenly, Boni walked in.
“Has Kawn come back?”
The witch shook her head as she poured the warm brew into a vial.
Boni huffed, “They’re gonna freeze out there.” The large bard seemed upset.
Miriam frowned and looked back outside. It was getting dark and Kawn had been out there for a long time.
She called her broom to her, “I’m going out to look for them.” Miriam knew Kawn would stop at nothing to find the scarf unless someone stepped in.
Boni huffed, “Not like that you’re not!” They dug in the closet before throwing a sweater at Miriam.
“I was going to give that to you for your birthday next year but it’s more useful now.”
Miriam pulled it off her face and looked at the sweater. It was a dark purple sweater like her dress with a cyan stripe across the middle.
“Thanks.” Miriam was thankful but her voice sounded dismissive. She put the sweater on over her usual outfit, pulling her cape over the sweater and heading off.
She followed the wind, since Kawn would still be following the scarf. It was extremely cold and her face stung as the wind sliced against her. Eventually, she saw Kawn trudging through the forest near Chismest, past the Nexus Point. They were shivering and still looking around, digging in the snow and looking in the trees.
Miriam swooped down and stopped in front of Kawn.
They looked up in shock and stared for a moment, processing everything happening.
“M-m-miriam?” The shivering bard cocked their head, “Wh-what are you doing here?”
Miriam huffed and lowered the broom and pulled Kawn on, “It’s too dangerous for you to keep looking for the scarf, c’mon.”
Kawn frowned and tried to resist but they were too cold to struggle much. Miriam flew back to Boni’s house.
Boni had finished making sandwiches for everyone by the time they got home. Kawn was still shivering when they hopped off the broom and stepped inside. Miriam hopped off the broom and went to go grab a blanket. Audrey looked up from her mug of hot chocolate.
“Did you find my scarf?!”
“N-n-no...” Kawn whimpered. Miriam was laying a blanket on them, and led them to the guest bedroom.
Audrey frowned and looked at the ground. Boni gave her a sandwich.
“Get some rest, tomorrow we’ll be decorating the tree.”
Audrey nodded a bit,”Thank you...” Her voice was low and sad.
Boni frowned, before they suddenly got a text. They looked at their phone, and then smiled. Soon, they quietly headed off to go work on a surprise.
The next morning, everyone was in the town centre. Parents, children, people who just lived here, all were working together to put their own creation upon the tree. Audrey’sankle still hurt but she hid the pain well, as she usually does when she gets injured. She was helping little kids find places to put their creations. She was still upset about her scarf, but she could just ask Kawn to go pick a new one up in Mount Ichor. It wouldn’t be the same, but... She couldn’t dwell on it. It was just a scarf.
She totally wasn’t still incredibly upset by the loss of her scarf.
Miriam was helping place the creations up on higher places, trying her best to prioritize children when working but usually just grabbing decorations and flying up. The two of them had been at this for hours, they were waiting for Kawn to finish cooking breakfast for them. Apparently it was tradition that at a certain point, everyone would go back to their home at select times for the three main meals of today, and the Barons, of all people, were the ones to call when breakfast starts.
Luckily, Miriam and Audrey were the Barons’ Guests.
Eventually, Boni showed up to let the town know that it was time for everyone to take time off for their family breakfast. Miriam quickly started flying home and Audrey started their way over to the house slowly on foot. They were still deeply upset about her scarf, despite what she would like everyone to believe.
Miriam and Audrey came in to find plates of pancakes ready on the table, as well as a pitcher of orange juice and some bottles of syrup.
“CREPES!!!” Audrey yelled.
Miriam rolled her eyes, “Pancakes.”
“Whatever.”
Kawn was passed out on the couch, holding a spatula. There was a cup of orange juice in front of them.
‘They must've been up extremely early’ Miriam thought, ‘They were cooking when I woke up and left.’
“Should we wake them up?” The ex-hero asked, lightly poking the bardlet.
“Probably not.” Miriam sat down in her chair and started serving herself. “Come eat or else it’ll get cold.
Audrey looked at the bard before going over and joining Miriam at the table and serving herself. Boni put a blanket on their sibling and joined the girls for breakfast.
“Eat up because tomorrow-” Boni ate some of their pancakes and downed some juice, “-is Light’s Eve.”
“Did you just eat an entire pancake in one bite?”  Audrey was almost jealous.
“What’s Light’s Eve?” Miriam ignored what she just saw.
“The day before the feast. Tomorrow, We are only eating light meals. So you will be eating one slice of french toast for breakfast, a turkey sandwich for lunch, and a small chicken breast for dinner. I planned this all out ahead so i could give you two a heads up, you don’t have to join us with that but we won’t be cooking anything more substantial for you.” Boni was swallowing another pancake.
Audrey was watching in horror as Boni quite literally inhaled their breakfast. Miriam was a bit perturbed but ignored it.
“I’m sure we’ll be fine with a light meal. We were lucky to even have so much as light meals during our adventure, we were mostly living off of dried fruits and nuts!” Miriam was very glad to be having meals again after the adventure, she hasn’t really complained about a meal since then. Audrey looked at Miriam with concern.
“Excuse me, what!?”
“What?”
“You and kawn lived off of...that??”
Miriam huffed, almost insulted.
“Look-”
“I’m done eating, you two finish up so we can get everyone and continue the decorating!” Boni interrupted. Miriam realized they were trying to de-escalate the situation. Miriam huffed but nodded. Audrey still looked concerned but looked over at the sleeping Bard.
“What about them?”
Boni looked over at kawn, “They’re in charge of feeding you two, as well as me but like... I get special treatment? Basically I get today and tomorrow to be lazy, because at midnight during The Order Feast, I have to sing ‘The Order March’”
Mim cocked an eyebrow “That’s just the Overseer Song, Kawn did that and they didn’t get tired.”
Boni huffed, almost insulted “I have to sing loud enough for all of Chismest to hear.”
“Oh”
“At midnight.”
“...oh.”  Miriam sunk into her shoulders.
Audrey was trying her best to imitate Boni and swallow a pancake whole, but was having a lot of trouble.
Miriam was taking a sip of juice when she went to look at Audrey and nearly spat out her drink. Audrey glared at Miriam as half of the pancake fell out her mouth. Boni smirked and got up to make sure Kawn was comfortable, and put the spatula on the counter.
The rest of the day was spent eating meals and decorating the tree. Kawn was usually asleep but Miriam figured (hoped) that it was just that they were tired.
During dinner, however, Kawn was awake and seemed pretty well rested and happy. They were talking with Boni while setting some gifts aside.
“Wait, were we supposed to bring gifts?” Miriam had a hint of panic in her voice.
“Well, you’re really only supposed to give gifts to your family. And like, traditionally they’re hand-made but people are busy, so most just buy gifts.” Boni said, dismissively.
Miriam’s brow furrowed. “Ok well I’m gonna go do that then! Audrey, you want to come with me tomorrow?”
Audrey still felt awkward without her scarf. Yesterday she could manage because she was busying herself helping with the tree. The tree was almost done, meaning she would have nothing to distract herself, and on top of that she had no gifts for Kawn and Miriam, who she kinda saw as her family.
“Yeah I’ll come...Wait are you going to make the broom ride really scary like last time?”
Miriam sighed, “No… as much as I want to.”
Kawn smiled and gave Miriam a thumbs up. Miriam rolled her eyes
Audrey nodded, thankful that Miriam wasn’t being mean for once. Dinner wasn’t very eventful, but it was still fun. Everyone was cracking jokes and poking fun at one another, and everyone seemed to be comfortable. It was as if the past had melted away and that.
Audrey and Miriam both wondered if this was what it was like to have an actual family.
The next morning, Audrey and Miriam headed off on the broom. Kawn had packed them breakfast and lunch. They were light meals, just as Boni warned. Kawn offered to make them bigger meals but Miriam and Audrey were determined to try to celebrate the holiday with the Bards.
“I’d go with you but I have to bake for tomorrow!” Kawn said apolegitcally.
“It’s alright, we kinda need this to be a surprise.”  Miriam said, dismissively..
The two headed off as Kawn waved goodbye, Audrey may or may not have been screaming the whole way up.
The girls got to Grandma Sapphy’s, and Miriam got to work on some potions. She insisted that Audrey not look for fear of her “ruining the surprise.”
Audrey decided to ask Sapphy for help making gifts.
Miriam wondered why Audrey had three gifts, and if she had asked, Audrey would have asked The Witch the same thing.
They returned just in time for dinner, placing their gifts in their own hiding spots. Dinner was light and quick to finish (Audrey had tried to steal many of the sweets) and everyone went to bed. Miriam was in a sleeping bag in the guest room with Kawn, and a thought creeped into her head. The two have been this close before so the thought shouldn’t have scared her. She carefully crawled out and got up and went over to Kawn. They were asleep but she had to be careful not to wake them, they were a light sleeper.
She carefully leaned in, and carefully gave him a kiss on the head. The bard moved a bit which caused Miriam to dart away. They didn’t move anymore than that but they had a sleepy smile on their face. A small, yet genuine smile. Miriam, now content, went back in her sleeping bag and went to sleep.
It was finally the day of the feast. The group of four were carrying the presents and sweets. Miriam and Audrey stood off to the side with the gifts as Kawn and boni set up their pastries with the other food. Everything smelled amazing and the band from Chaandesh was here, playing some music. Once Kawn finished up, They excitedly ran off to talk to them.
Boni turned to the two girls, bearing a large grin.
“Ok you two,” they said, crossing their arms “Time to gorge yourself, give gifts, and just enjoy yourselves!”
Miriam immediately held a gift box up to Boni, who froze and looked down at it.
“Wh-”
“Thanks for uh...letting us celebrate.” Miriam was quiet and looked away. She wasn’t used to giving gifts to others.
Boni gave the witch a soft smile and opened up the box and gasped, pulling out a red leaf from Delphi. It was preserved and put in a frame barely big enough for it.
“Aw sweet!!!” Boni pulled Miriam into a bear hug, and the Witch let out a squawk that caused Audrey to chuckle.
Boni turned to the bemused Ex-Hero “Oh, did you want a hug too?” They gave a big devilish grin.
“Ah no no! But uh yeah I got you a gift too!!!” Audrey said, panicking. She didn’t want to be crushed by the giant bard.
Boni was taken aback. She was kind of mean to Audrey, yet she was giving her a gift?
They carefully took the gift and opened it. It was a necklace with a glass crystal that contained a small red flower.
“I uh… had help making it. I didn’t make it, Miriam’s grandma did.” The adventurer said, sheepishly.
Boni gave her a soft smile before handing Audrey and Miriam their own gifts. “I loved these, thank you so much. I have to go get ready for tonight, you two have fun. Save me some food.” Boni walked off, humming softly as she lumbered off.
“That was uncharacteristically soft.” Miriam commented. Audrey gave a sheepish nod as she opened her gift. She let out a loud gasp as she pulled out a long, golden scarf. It was just like her old one, but it didn’t have that annoying and itchy tag on it!
She immediately put it on, with an especially extravagant form to her flair. Miriam rolled her eyes and opened her own gift. Her eyes flew open as she saw a set of vials, perfect for potion making. They were just the right size to hold ingredients and potions, and were in a nice little crate she could place.
“Woah…” It was all Miriam could manage as she carefully put her hand on one of the corks. She quietly put the box lid back on and placed the box where the group had set up their own little hang out spot.
` Audrey was busy twirling and striking poses, but snapped out of it when Miriam whistled at her. The adventurer looked over and realized that Miriam was holding a gift out at her.
“Look, Kawn would have wanted me to make you feel included, so i got you...this.”
Audrey looked at the gift before grabbing one of her gifts and walking over and handing her gift to Miriam and taking Miriam’s gift to her. Miriam stared at the gift dumbfounded as Audrey opened the gift box.
“Wh-”
“It’s a potion of power.”
“Wow. That’s low.” Audrey chuckled as she pulled the potion out and looked at it.
“I kinda feel bad because I wasn’t expecting you to give me a gift back, now I just look mean.”
“Nah it’s all good, i could actually use this for my job.” Audrey pocketed the potion and looked at Miriam. “Again your grandma helped with this, so… yeah.”
“Mmm I’m sure it’s gonna be embarrassing.” Miriam carefully opened the box and looked inside. “Wait what?” She pulled out a book with a leather face. She flipped through the pages and smiled a bit and shook her head.
“Wow. She REALLY wants me to get into potion making. I mean, not complaining. I got some new fancy viles so I guess i'm doing this. She looked at Audrey.
“I guess you’re not too bad.”
Suddenly Kawn walked up holding gifts of their own to give. They were humming to the tune of the music as they skipped up.
“Hellooo!” they sang out.
“Sup.” Audrey flashed a piece sign at the bard. Miriam rolled her eyes and looked at Kawn. “Hey Kawn. I got you a gift.”
Kawn looked surprised, before giving a big smile. “I got you two a gift as well!!” They handed their gifts over. “Go on! Open them! I really wanna see how you react!”
Audrey decided to go first, she opened the box and saw an axe. It’s handle was made out of wood that was found in langtree, and there was a design of a sky seal swirling up the handle brandished into it. The blade had a leather sheath for it, and it had Audrey’s name embroidered into it in gold.
“Everyone in Langtree pitched in to make this for you!” Kawn piped up. Audrey teared up and blushed and hugged the axe.
“Wow- Gosh I’m sorry! I-if you don’t like it I cou-”
“NOO I LOVE IT!!” Audrey cried as she hugged Kawn, almost crushing them.
“Ouukh! Aw… You’re welcome!!” Kawn hugged Audrey as she backed off and wiped her face with her sleeve and looked at the Axe.
Miriam looked nervously at her box. Ot was small, it wouldn’t be nearly as flashy as Audrey’s gift. She was jealous of that but she couldn’t see herself using an axe. Miriam carefully opened her box, and she saw a small hair clip. It was dark blue with a yellow, star shaped jewel. Next to it, was a necklace that matched the hair clip.
“I talked to Sapphy as well, and she helped me make these. I chose the shape and colors!”
Miriam carefully put the hairclip and necklace on.
“Thanks.” She could almost feel her face burning. “I, uh, got you something as well.”  She handed them her box and hid in her sweater.
Kawn opened the box and sang a giddy little note and pulled out a potted flower. It was yellow and shaped like a star.
“You also got me a star shaped gift!!” Kawn was ecstatic as they looked at the flower.
Audrey gulped as they looked at their gift. She doubted it would be as good as a plant, but she handed it over anyway. Kawn excitedly took it and put the plant down. The gift was small, but Kawn didn’t seem phased. They opened the gift and gasped before pulling out the pretty black feather from its protective box. It’s colors shifted to a deep turquoise in a certain light.
“It’s so pretty!!! Thank you!! Oh gosh these gifts are great!!”
Miriam smiled, they were always so easy to entertain. Audrey was still surprised by their simplicity but was busy hooking their axe to her sash.
“I’m gonna go eat til i explode” Audrey said, simply. “If you want me, I’ll be by the spicy stuff.”
“Ok!!” Kawn waved and turned towards Miriam.
Miriam noted the current song was a waltz. Sapphy had actually taught her how to waltz. Claimed it was important for her to learn for whatever reason.
Suddenly, an idea sprang in her head that terrified her.
“Miriam?” Kawn was wondering why Miram was suddenly blushing.
“Oh uh sorry. What’s up.”
“I wanted to know what you wanted to do!” Kawn presumed Miriam was just spaced out.
“I uh… How about we dance”
“Ok!”
“Together”
“Sounds fun!”
“I meant, like a waltz.”
“Su- wait what?”
Miriam grabbed the Bard’s hand and dragged him to a more secluded area where they could still hear the music.
The bard was still shell shocked as Miriam carefully took their hand carefully on hers, and carefully put their hand on her shoulder and her hand on their hip. She decide that she would be assuming the lead role, as she was the one who actually knew how to waltz.
“We’re just gonna do some steps, nothin fancy.”
It was Kawn’s turn to blush as they sheepishly nodded.
Miriam led them as they kinda shuffled about. Kawn was having fun but could tell Miriam was still nervous about this.
They decided to add a bit of their own pizzazz.
“I’m having fun, but ya know what would be greater?” Kawn smirked, Miriam raised an eyebrow, secretly terrified that Kawn didn’t like this.
Suddenly, kawn lifted Miriam's hand and then tried to spin, giggling as they went. Miriam fumbled as she wasn’t expecting this and accidentally knocked Kawn off balance.
“Oop-!” Kawn yelped, as they fell back. Miriam quickly caught Kawn and held Them up as they were leaning back.
“Woah-” Kawn gasped, “Nice catch.” Kawn blushed and sheepish;y smiled.
Miriam smirked and dropped Kawn,
“Ack!” Kawn flailed and sat up, giggling. “Aww c'mon, that was a good dance!”
“Then let’s have a second go.” Miriam said, holding out her hand. Probably the smoothest Miriam has or ever will be.
The two giggled and danced the night away, not really following the rules of waltz and just doing whatever came to their mind. Not caring what was happening or what the world might have thought.
It was the happiest Kawn had ever seen Miriam.
Suddenly, There was a loud and clear singing. The two looked up and saw the lights of the Nexus Point were at their brightest.
“It’s midnight.” Kawn gasped.
“We were out that long?”
“Time flies when you’re having fun, cmon!” Kawn took Miriam’s hand and ran for the tree, leading the confused Witch.
When they got to the town centre, they saw that the tree was lit up to match the Nexus lights. Boni was up in front of the tree singing to the entirety of Chismest, some sang along and some just watched. It wasn’t quite the same as the Lullaby, probably modified so that the Bard doesn’t just get chucked to the spirit world. The song was much longer, and some of the notes changed. Kawn quietly sang along, and rocked side to side. Miriam carefully laid her head on Kawn’s shoulder and hummed along with what she knew from Order March. She had a lot of fun the past few days, but she was looking forward to sleeping in her own bed after today. She let out a slight yawn as the song came to an end.
“Tired?”
Miriam sleepily nodded and rubbed her eyes. “Yeah, but i’ll be alright.”
“Nah let’s go to bed, we’ll fly home tomorrow.”
Miriam nodded and sleepily followed the bard back to Boni’s after they grabbed the gifts. Kawn put the gifts in a safe spot and tucked Miriam into bed.
“Wait isn’t this your bed?”
“Yeah but you’re flying tomorrow. Get some sleep.” Kawn gave Miriam a kiss on the cheek as they went and got ready for bed and slipped into the sleeping bag.
“...Kawn?”
“Hm?”
“...Can you sing the Wind Sonata?”
“I’d love to!”
The bard started to sing and the witch got comfy in bed. Today was a long day but she was happy she came. Slowly, she drifted off to sleep, she was very excited to show Grandma Sapphy her gifts.

Meet the Mods!
Akamine_chan created The Fandom Snowflake Challenge back in 2012 as a way to remind herself “why I loved fandom so much”. Over the years the challenge itself has come to mean a lot to many of us, so by way of introduction some of the mods for this year have written about what the Fandom Snowflake Challenge means to them and why they are excited about it.
Gillo: Hi, I'm Gill (my surname begins with O, hence my super-original username!) This is my first time helping out with the Snowflake community and I'm really looking forward to seeing what crops up. I've loved watching from the fringes in times past, and I'm very keen to get to know new folks, fandoms and ideas this year.
Seleneheart: This will be my third year modding this comm. Before I started modding, I sort of participated in this challenge but wasn't very consistent. When I decided to really commit myself to doing this back in 2019, I signed up to be a mod as well (go hard or go home!). The work I've put into this comm has always been returned a thousand-fold! I've made new friends, found new obsessions, and thought about things in ways I never had before. After this disastrous year, I feel like I need the warmth and comfort of fandom more than ever before. I hope that among these challenges, you can find something that will warm your heart and soothe your soul.
Spikedluv: Hello to all returning and new Snowflakes! I love Snowflake and I’m thrilled to be part of the group bringing Snowflake to you again this year. Especially after the year we've all just had. The best thing about this challenge is that it reminds me of all the great things about fandom. The feeling of community. The comments and feedback. The squee that comes with discovering new fandoms and new fic and new friends. And while Snowflake only lasts for one month, these are things we can take with us into the rest of the year. As I’ve said previously, Snowflake has taught me that I need to be the change I want to see in fandom and gets me pumped up to go forth and be a more active participant.
Sjh2009: Hi I'm Sue (fandom name StarbucksSue). I've enjoyed taking part in Snowflake on several occasions in the past but this is my first time helping out. I always love to see the answers to the challenges and getting to know new friends and new fandoms. It's been a hard year for many of us and I think the Snowflake Challenge is a lovely, positive, way to get the year started.
Goddess47: Hello! I'm Goddess47 (everywhere!) and while I've participated in Snowflake a few times, this is my first time helping out. I'm looking forward to all the challenges and seeing everyone that participates. It's amazing to see the energy that Snowflake generates... it's a great start to a new year!
Mizface: Hello hello! *waves* I'm so pleased to be a part of Snowflake this year. I was unable to participate at the level I wanted to last year, so I'm thrilled to have more time now. The Snowflake challenges always push me in the best way, and bring me so much happiness, both in working on them and even more in seeing what everyone else brings to them. It's an inspiring, heartening, wondrous burst of positive energy, which is an amazing way to start the year (which, I don't know about you, but I seriously need). Plus, they've never failed to bring me new fannish things to explore, For example, I have a post someone made a couple of years ago as part of the challenge to thank for getting me to watch Schitt's Creek. I am forever in their debt.
So in conclusion, welcome, best wishes and warmest regards, thanks for coming to play, and I hope y'all have FUN!
Llilly_c: Hello all, I'm lilly_c and I've been in fandom for a long as I can remember. I've participated in Snowflake for a few years now and always had a ball. This is my first time helping out with Snowflake and I can't wait to see what we all come up with over the month.
Paulamcg: Hello! I'm PaulaMcG, and I'm glad to participate in the Snowflake Challenge this time by helping out a bit, too. A year ago, still struggling to find interaction in fandom after a long hiatus, I enjoyed doing all the challenges at Snowflake. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the creative, subversive, inclusive and encouraging community that is fandom.
Tjs_whatnot: Oh Snowflake, how I've missed your optimistic and cheery fandom energy! I've exhausted those resources pretty early on last year, so a refill is in desperate need! I've been part of the Snowflake family for ages now (I've seriously lost count), but I learn something new each year, so it's a new challenge each time. I can't wait to get reacquainted with the other old timers and meet some new, fun fandom faces. LET'S DO THIS!! ♥ ♥ ❤ ❤
Stripytights: Hi, I'm Stripy and I've really enjoyed doing the The Snowflake Challenge in the past - it's a lot of fun and in past years I've really valued it as a way to reach out and connect with other fandom folk. I'm really glad to be participating this year both through posting and commenting, and looking forward to seeing all of the posts.
Muccamukk: Hi all, I'm Muccamukk, or Mucca, or Hey you. I've been doing snowflake challenge off and on since it's first year, and this is my second year helping out. I am usually most involved in the fanfic side of fandom, but love seeing all the creative ideas and responses people bring to each day's challenge.
Sperrywink: Hello, fellow Snowflakers! I'm Sperrywink and I've helped out many a year. I always look forward to the Snowflake Challenge each January and this one is no different. It helps start the year off right in a fannish sense, IMHO. Looking forward to meeting people old and new and seeing the breadth of art and community fandom has to offer.
Cornerofmadness: Hello All. I'm Cornerofmadness. I've been taking part in the Snowflake Challenge for a few years now. It's a wonderful, low-key cool down for me after the frantic holiday fandom challenges. It's always fun to see new people and all their creativity. It's w great place to go exploring.
Enemytosleep: I have followed [community profile] snowflake_challenge the last several years now, and if there is one good thing to come from all that was 2020, it's that I now have more time to participate in this year's event as both a participant and a mod. I'm excited to see everyone flock back to the comm again and spread some cheer!
Coyoteclaw11: Hello all! My name's Coyote, and I'm really excited to check out everyone's posts this year! Last year was pretty rough, so getting to ring in the New Year with all the positivity, community, and creativity that the Snowflake Challenge brings is something I'm really looking forward to.
As you can see the challenge means so many things to the mods, and to everyone who has participated before, and will hopefully also be meaningful to anyone joining us for the first time this year. You’ll find us all wading through comments, welcoming everyone, answering questions, keeping the peace, so if you need anything, don't hesitate to flag one of us down.
Tomorrow starts the first of the fandom challenges, so hope you all are ready for some fun times! Feel free to do any challenge that strikes your fancy (or all of them), or leave a comment on someone else’s challenge response at anytime.

Drabble Ship💚💚💚
Hi, may I have a drabble ship for SHINee, F(X) & Girls' Generation? I usually don't approach strangers, I let them come to me. There's some exceptions like if someone is friendly or has the same interests as me. I'm shy at first when I meet people. As I start to open up, I'll be more talkative and feel more comfortable talking about anything that's on my mind. I'll also joke around a lot. My hobbies are dancing, acting out scenes from my fav tv shows or movies and playing mobile/video games. I like babies (well mostly my baby cousins, they're so cute 🥺), having time to myself, roses, candy, rabbits and fireworks. I dislike snakes, spiders, nosy people, math and naggers it makes not want to do whatever they're nagging me about. Something I look forward in a relationship is spending the holidays together, especially Christmas! Since I'm older and now I know Santa isn't real, my parents have me help pick out presents for my siblings and I also get to pick my present. I like that I can get whatever I want, but I don't feel excited to open it, since I already know what it is. With my partner, I would like us to exchange gifts on Christmas day. Since I won't know what I'm getting, I'll feel the excitement I use to feel as a kid, which will make me very happy. I would also like to do Easter hunts. If you need more info, feel free to message me.
Heyy angel 😊😊, good to see ya requesting. That was a lovely description about yourself and I love how you added your love for Christmas to it. sorry for making you wait so long...
From Shinee, I ship you with...Onew
Winter Wonderland ❄️🤍
Song inspiration: Winter Bear by V
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It has been 5 years since you’ve married Onew and your favorite season has finally approached.
On January 21st the first winter snowfall of the new year has finally came. Your husband has finally took you on the Dream honeymoon you’ve been asking for after throwing your wedding on Christmas Day.
You’ve stayed together the whole weekend at the cabins in Tennessee to drink hot cocoa, watch hours worth of k-dramas reanacting your favorite scenes and spending quality time relaxing in the hot tub.
This getaway was perfect, but today was even more special because today your 6th year anniversary since becoming a couple.
The both of you have admired the snow falling from the sky holding hands, reminiscing every moment laughing together.
There was even a moment where you were on the peak of breaking up, because of the importance of his career. The thought made you shed tears.
Y/N: Remember when we almost seperated? Man that was the toughest day wasn’t it?
Onew: Ahh yeah it was. Why all of a sudden you thought of that just now?
You turn walking towards him holding his hands with warming his hands up with your fuzzy gloves.
Y/N: Ever since that day, I’ve realized my life wouldn’t have been the same without you. I mean my family and friends love you coming around every holiday. But, every season as more time pasts by...I love having you around the most.
He sheds a tear as he hears his lovely wife confess such beautiful words. He gently hugs you spinning around singing Winter Bear.
Onew: You have my word honey. I won’t be going anywhere, That’s what I vowed to do didn’t I? He leans in kissing you on the forehead.
Y/N: Mmm, that’s right my Winter Bear. I love you.
Onew: I love you more.
The married couple lives in there own world as they wiggle each other’s noses giggling under the snowfall...

It was your Christmas together with your girlfriend Amber and your family. Your grandmother and mom was in the kitchen baking chocolate chip cookies while you, Amber and her younger cousins helped set up the tree.
Amber was on a roll at first nicely setting up all the 24 ornaments you both painted together. It all went down hill until she started tangling up the red Christmas lights.
You and cousins laugh at this embarrassing sight and decided to help her.
Y/N: I told you not to by those cheap ones. Those get tangled very easily and don’t last long.
Amber: I know y/n. The star is the most important part anyways. smiles at you making cute llama noises.
Your younger cousins decided to step back and take a cookie break after helping hanging up the lights.
As your tree is almost complete, Amber pulls out the sparkly golden star to complete the tree and hands it over to you.
Amber: Here you you, for my shinning star.
Y/N: Giggles holding on to the star. Don’t mind if I do sweetie.
Your start climbing onto the three step ladder carefully setting the star on top. As you move away from the tree to get off the steps, you end up falling into Amber’s arms.
Amber: Catches you into her arms tightly and just looks at you caressing the top of your head. Hehe, hi... Aren’t you glad I caught you?
Y/N: Absolutely...I know it’s a bit early, but I should give you your gift. You want to know what it is? Leans in wrapping your arms around her neck.
Amber: Hmm, suprise me. I’m ready.
As soon as you two were about to kiss everyone walks back inside the living room screaming both of your names to try your grandma’s famous chocolate chip cookies before they get cold.
The both of your faces turned as red as the Christmas lights flashing on the christmas tree. At least later that night, Amber was able to receive her gift...

Ms. Claus🎵🎤

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You decided to take a trip to the mall to buy your family and friends some gifts for Christmas.
You were walking around for hours going over your checklist of everyone’s wishlist. Your siblings were getting a lot older and there at that age where they don’t want to play with toys anymore.
You were planning on taking a break by eating at the food court exhausted from all the shopping. All of a sudden you hear a crowd of people screaming..
Fan 1: Omg is that Tiffany Young?!
Fan 2: That sure is her, her new Christmas single just came out.
Fan 3: She’s also having a meet and greet right after.
Growing up girls generation was one of your ultimate kpop groups and to hear that Tiffany is performing right now at the mall made you speechless.
The red curtain opens and all you see is Tiffany stunting on stage with her all red ribbon dress smiling so angelic at the crowd.
The jazz band plays the song to her new single Ms. Claus with her unique vocals. In the middle of the performance, you didn’t want to believe it at first, but you noticed her exchanging eye contact with you.
Towards the end of the performance, confetti exploded everywhere making the crowd go insane. She walks off stage standing infront of you handing you a rose smiling at you.
Tiffany: What’s your name?
You look up at her dropping your pretzel on the ground forgetting how to function. Eventually you’ve proceeded to tell her your name.
Tiffany: I’ve noticed you sitting here all by yourself. I just wanted to say your very beautiful and I hope you enjoy your Christmas.
She then kneels down in front of you coming closer to your face kissing your cheek leaving a lip stain on your cheek.
Y/N: Holds marked cheek looking flustered. W-Will I ever see you again?
Tiffany looks back at you one last time and winks.
Tiffany: Whenever you need me, my phone number is attached on the rose...
The crowd looks at you with jaw dropped to the ground and hypes you up saying “Yaa she’s so lucky.” And “You go get her tiger. ”
Not even a second later after her meet and greet was over you’ve decided to call her and stay on the phone for hours. Santa has definitely blessed you this time of year.
@wjnterchild I had so much fun writing these for you. It’s definitely fitting the theme and I hope you enjoyed them. Happy Holidays 💚❤️💚

Hollywood Propaganda by Mark Dice
https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/hollywood-propaganda-mark-dice/1137833508
Christianity Under Attack
In order to destroy America, the conspirators are determined to eradicate faith in God and dismantle organized Christianity. Attacking Jesus and Christianity is a sacrament in Hollywood because the far-Left hates Jesus and everything He stands for. It’s not an overstatement to say that many in key positions of power in the entertainment industry (and politics) are Satanists who will someday openly embrace Lucifer as the rebel angel kicked out of Heaven for defying God.
“I’m glad the Jews killed Christ,” ranted comedian Sarah Silverman in one of her comedy specials. “Good. I’d fucking do it again!” she declares, as her audience agrees in laughter.158 While accepting an Emmy Award one year Kathy Griffin said, “A lot of people come up here and they thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus. He didn’t help me a bit…so all I can say is suck it Jesus! This award is my god now!”159
I’m not saying people shouldn’t be able to make fun of Christians, but no mainstream celebrity would dare make such insults or jokes about Muhammad because Muslims (and Jews) are vigorously protected against any criticism or mockery and only wonderful things can be said about them. Even a slightly edgy joke ignites a barrage of attacks with cries of “Islamophobia” or “anti-Semitism” and gears start moving in the well-funded and massive smear machines like the ADL and the SPLC which quickly move to destroy the person’s career before they can utter another word.
Hating Christians is almost as necessary as believing in climate change if you’re going to be a mainstream Hollywood celebrity. There are very few open Christians in Hollywood, most of them are has-beens like Kevin Sorbo and Kirk Cameron who have been basically blacklisted since being open about their faith.
Kevin Sorbo was banned from Comicon because he’s a conservative and “pals with Sean Hannity.”160 He and other Christian actors are stuck doing low budget films that get little attention. They’re allowed to exist (for now) as long as they never point out the Bible’s teachings on homosexuality. Only watered down and generic Christian messages are allowed to be said.
After Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and happened to discuss his “spirituality,” many online began attacking him for being a Christian and attending a church. Actress Ellen Page (a lesbian) from the X-Men and Inception tweeted, “If you are a famous actor and you belong to an organization that hates a certain group of people, don’t be surprised if someone simply wonders why it’s not addressed. Being anti LGBTQ is wrong, there aren’t two sides. The damage it causes is severe. Full stop.”161
Singer Ellie Goulding threatened to back out of her scheduled performance at the 2019 Thanksgiving NFL halftime show if the Salvation Army didn’t pledge to donate money to LGBT causes. She got the idea after her Instagram comments were flooded with complaints from her fans because the Salvation Army was sponsoring the game to announce their annual Red Kettle Campaign (bell ringers) fundraiser for the homeless.162 Since the Salvation Army is a Christian charity, Goulding’s fans freaked out, accusing them of being “homophobic” and “transphobic.”
They quickly bowed to the pressure and “disavowed” any anti-LGBT beliefs, which basically means they’re disavowing the Bible because even the New Testament denounces homosexuality in Romans 1:26-27 and 1st Corinthians 6:9-10. Many critics claim that only the Old Testament does, but the Book of Romans makes it clear that just because Jesus came to offer salvation doesn’t mean God’s law regarding homosexuality changed.
The Salvation Army also removed a “position statement” from their website that had made it clear “Scripture forbids sexual intimacy between members of the same sex,” and replaced it with one saying “We embrace people regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity.”163 One of the world’s largest Christian charities whose very name “The Salvation Army” refers to the salvation of Christ, cowardly bowed down to the Leftist activists out of fear they would be branded “homophobic.”
Christians are easy targets since they’re much more passive than Jews and Muslims when attacked, and Hollywood loves to stereotype them as a bunch of superstitious bigots who don’t know how to have fun. In the rare case that there is a movie favorable to Christianity that gets widespread distribution, that too is attacked.
Passion of the Christ was deemed “anti-Semitic” because it depicts the story of Jesus’ arrest, sham trial, and crucifixion.164 It was the most popular film about the events to be made and wasn’t a straight to DVD release like most others. With Mel Gibson behind it, the film became a huge success, which caused a tremendous backlash.
The ADL [Anti-Defamation League] denounced the film, saying it “continues its unambiguous portrayal of Jews as being responsible for the death of Jesus. There is no question in this film about who is responsible. At every single opportunity, Mr. Gibson’s film reinforces the notion that the Jewish authorities and the Jewish mob are the ones ultimately responsible for the Crucifixion.”165 That’s because that’s what happened!
Technically, the Romans did it, but at the behest of the Jewish leadership in Jerusalem at the time. The Bible makes it very clear what led to Jesus being crucified. Pontius Pilate is quoted in Matthew 27:24 saying, “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” and “It is your responsibility!” meaning the Jewish Pharisees. They were the ones who conspired to have Jesus arrested and killed for “blasphemy” and being a “false” messiah. Pontius Pilate even offered to release Jesus, but the crowd demanded he release Barabbas instead, another man who was being detained for insurrection against Rome, and for murder.166
A critic for the New York Daily News called The Passion of the Christ, “the most virulently anti-Semitic movie made since the German propaganda films of the Second World War.”167 Many others angrily denounced the film when it came out in 2004. Some in the media even blamed it for a supposed “upsurge” in anti-Semitic hate crimes.168
When the History Channel miniseries The Bible was released in 2013, the same cries of “anti-Semitism” rang out.169 The New York Times opinion editor Bari Weiss went so far as to say that it’s a “conspiracy theory” that Jews killed Jesus.170
Even though most Christmas movies aren’t overtly Christian and instead focus of the importance of families reuniting and spending time together, that doesn’t mean they’re not going to come under attack. As the war on western culture continues, the Marxists have set their sights on Christmas too.
Online liberal cesspool Salon.com ran a headline reading “Hallmark movies are fascist propaganda,” and complained they promote “heteronormative whiteness” because there aren’t enough LGBT characters or people of color in them.171
“Hallmark movies, with their emphasis on returning home and the pleasures of the small, domestic life, also send a not-at-all subtle signal of disdain for cosmopolitanism and curiosity about the larger world,” Salon said, “which is exactly the sort of attitude that helps breed the kind of defensive White nationalism that we see growing in strength in the Donald Trump era.”172
The article went on to say that because the Hallmark Channel airs so many Christmas movies, it is promoting, “a set of patriarchal and authoritarian values that are more about White evangelicals defining themselves as an ethnic group, and not about a genuine feeling of spirituality…The very fact that they’re presented as harmless fluff makes it all the more insidious, the way they work to enforce very narrow, White, heteronormative, sexist, provincial ideas of what constitutes ‘normal.’”173
The article wasn’t satire. Salon.com has a deep-seated hatred of Christianity, conservatives and families, and is another cog in the Cultural Marxist machine working to destroy the United States.
Comedian Whitney Cummings was reported to the Human Resources department of a major Hollywood studio after she wished the crew of a TV show she was working on “Merry Christmas” when they wrapped up for the year. She made the revelation while speaking with Conan O’Brian the following December. “Last year, I was working on a TV show, [and] got in trouble with Human Resources for saying ‘Merry Christmas’ to an intern,” she began.174
Conan asked her if she was being serious and she said it was a true story, elaborating, “I was leaving, like on the 18th or whatever…and I was like, ‘Bye guys, Merry Christmas.’” When she returned from vacation after New Year’s she was called to HR and scolded. She joked, “I don’t even care how your Christmas was. It was just a formality. It’s what you say when you leave.”175
Conan O’Brien then replied, “In these times we’re in, that could trigger someone or offend them if it’s not their holiday.”176 She didn’t say which network it was, but she’s been involved with some major shows like NBC’s Whitney (where she played the main character), as well as the CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls, which she created and was a writer for.
While today it may seem impossible that Christmas movies may become a thing of the past, nobody could have ever guessed that reruns of the classic Dukes of Hazzard would get banned after the Confederate flag was deemed a “hate symbol” in 2015, or that Aunt Jemima pancake syrup, Eskimo Pie ice cream bars, and Uncle Ben’s Rice would be deemed “racially insensitive” and pulled from production a few years later.177
Once someone reminds liberals that the word Christmas is derived from Christ’s Mass and that it is actually a commemoration of the birth of Jesus, they may finally go over the edge and deem Christmas just as offensive as Columbus Day or the Fourth of July. And with the Muslim and Sikh populations increasing in the United States, the American standard of Christmas music playing in shopping malls and retail stores all month long every December may one day come to an end because it’s not “inclusive” and leaves non-Christians feeling “ostracized.”

Kristen 1-20 ewe
I did,,, I did my best ;_;
Holiday
After much thought to this, I've decided to give the ldwl a yearly festival. It's one the wizards started celebrating in honor of Adizora. Elementals aren't allowed to attend, obviously, because Adizora was supposedly killed by an elemental group.
Kristen's elemental group sneaks in every year, though. She loves everything about it, from the music and dancing to the food. Her favorite is the light show, though. Three wizards get together and guide multicolored lights through the air in different shapes and patterns.
Kristen and Luna have been secretly attending this festival since they were kids ;w;
Cooking
Kristen always leaves a huge mess after cooking (and she never cleans it up). Kole threatened to set her leftovers on fire once because she refused to clean her mess lol
She likes cooking with Kole, though, even if he isn't that great at it.
Sleeping
Kristen sleeps in her bed super weird. She is always waking up in a different position than she layed down. She also throws everything off the bed somehow while sleeping. Sometimes, when she really needs company because of the mess in her mind, she will take her blanket to Kole's room and sleep on his floor
Driving
Cars were brought over into their world once the portal had been opened, so it's not like cars don't exist there anymore.
However, Kristen refuses to learn to drive one (or even ride in one) unlike her brother, who loves the convenience of them. Her reasoning for why she doesn't want to is a lot more complex than "they scare her" but it's so much easier to say that than the truth
Hugging
She hugs Kole nearly all the time. She knows he gets kinda awkward when she does, but it's very comfortable for her.
Sex
She's never had sex before (in both timelines). She wants her first to be Luna, and has been waiting because of that.
When she does have sex, I don't imagine she will be very good at it lol idk what else to say cause Kristen having a sex life is a very new concept to me lolol
General physical contact
Physical contact is very important to her. Because of the two different realities constantly streaming through her mind, Kristen uses her sense of touch to keep herself grounded. She's very affectionate with Kole and Zero, but not so much with Luna. It hurts too much to be physically close to her.
Physical appearance
She's the same height as Kole (so 5'11)
Her hair is wavy and reaches her midback. In this timeline, she's a blonde. In the other, a brunette.
She wears makeup, but not nearly as much as Luna does.
Wardrobe
Kristen wears a lot of green and yellow. This is something she and Luna have in common ;_;
She has a specific dress I imagine she wears for most of the story (which I attempted to recreate in animal crossing alasnfjfkfl) but I do imagine her wearing other outfits. Scarves seem to be something I imagine her wearing often, but I don't have any ideas on how to match them to her outfits. When she wears jeans or skirts, they are usually white or light blue, with the occasional green and yellow thrown in.
Jewelry
Kristen makes her own jewelry! I'm not entirely sure what it looks like yet, but I know she has necklaces and earrings as her favorite accessories. (Mostly earrings tho)
Soft spot
Her elemental group, but mostly Kole and Luna.
In a way, Jedediah.
She loves animals of all kinds, but she especially loves the animals that are undomesticated.
She was really close to Vince, and will want to be close to him again when she finds out he's alive.
Pretty lights, like fireworks
Relationship with ___
Kole
Old timeline -
In the old timeline, Kristen and Kole were very distant from each other. Through all her attempts to build a solid relationship with Kole, he continuously pushed her away. They never really spoke to each other unless necessary.
All that changed after Kole lost Vince. Because of that, he had been planning to kill himself, but instead broke down to Kristen very suddenly. The distance they felt between each other through the years was closed, and Kole began working to make up for the way he treated Kristen in the past.
New timeline -
They grew up very close, because all they had was each other. Kole never knew Vince in this timeline, so he never had to go through losing him.
Currently, Kristen and Kole are still extremely close. They do pretty much everything together, and it's not just because they're in the same elemental group. Kole has and would do anything for Kristen. Kristen is so happy to see Kole happy, and in a way, she's glad her wish changed the timeline. Sometimes.
Luna
Kristen has had a crush on Luna for as long as they've known each other.
They met when they were kids, and because of being pushed away and mistreated by her family, Kristen was in desperate need of a friend.
Luna and Kristen spent all their time together. As they grew up, they both realized they had feelings for each other. Eventually, they began dating.
This didn't happen in the new timeline. In fact, Kristen hadn't met Luna in the new timeline until two years before, and they were never very close. Luna was a part of the elemental group more out of convenience than anything. She also had feelings for Kole, unfortunately for everyone involved (cause Kole is turbo gay, Luna had to deal with knowing her feelings wouldn't be returned, and Kristen got to watch all this go on all while missing Luna.)
Kristen has been trying to get closer to Luna, but she remains uninterested in letting this happen. It's caused Kristen a lot of pain to remember her time with Luna, but knowing Luna doesn't realize how close they were.
Jedediah
I imagine they knew each other before the wish, which is why Kristen felt comfortable coming to him for help. She knows all about what Jedediah deals with from his past, and she had always felt bad for him. Jedediah assumes Kristen forgot everything he told her before because of the new timeline they're living in, but he's wrong.
Despite all the horrible shit he's put Kristen through, they don't hate each other. In fact, I can see Kristen wishing for Jedediah to heal from his past and being friends again. Jedediah's feelings about Kristen is something he chooses to ignore, because he is fueled only by his desire for revenge and the need to make everyone around him hurt in the way he has for so long. He will sacrifice everyone he knows, the entire world if necessary, to achieve his goals. He sees everyone as disposable, and Kristen is no exception (or so he tries to convince himself of.)
Extra Kristen info
I have some Kristen/Luna stuff, since you asked before ;w;
They would have been together 7 years now if the wish had never happened. I imagine Kristen had feelings for Luna much longer than Luna did for Kristen. They were closer with each other than they were with their bio families.
I imagine they moved in together as soon as they were able to. Despite Luna and Vince trying to get Kristen and Kole closer to each other, it never really worked out. Kristen loved living with Luna, and it didn't bother her too much leaving Kole behind. She still saw him occasionally, but it was only because of Vince's efforts to keep them in contact.
Luna and Kristen had their own elemental group with Vince (because Kole was already a fire elemental in his elemental group, so Vince didn't really have a place with Kole's group) and Jedediah (Jed was not an elemental, and the group knew this, but he was able to pretend to be a water elemental from his years of practice of different types of magic in different worlds). So yeah, Luna was also close to Jedediah.
I keep thinking about Kristen and Luna having a flower garden straight up in one of the rooms in their house. With Kristen being an earth elemental, she took care of the flowers for Luna. The garden was made for Luna specifically, because she loves flowers so much.
I also like to imagine that Luna always did Kristen's hair for her,,,,, like, Kristen was capable of doing it on her own, but Luna insisted that was something she wanted to do for Kristen. So soft..,.,.,.,,
Other things about Kristen I keep thinking about is like, she is a pacifist (like the rest of her elemental group), and she doesn't want to see any conflict between them and Jedediah, but like .., he's hurting her, and her friends. She has to toss all that aside to keep her friends safe
She tries to be prepared for every possible scenario, which means sometimes she can go a little overboard on the "what if this happens? we need a plan!"
I can't get anymore words out of my dumb brain, I'm sorry ;m;

favorite color? dark green, but have been loving blues lately
things people do that drive you crazy? lately it issss people i work with who are taking advantage of working from home/being lazy & unproductive. aside from making my life very frustrating, it is generally very frustrating bc there are millions of people who are out of work at the moment/would kill for the opportunity to be at home w their families. repeat after me: if your work life and/or paycheck has not been affected by this situation, that is privilege sweetie! acknowledge it! goodbye
any phobias? BIRDS

favorite kind of music? i am largely a pop/alt-pop/dance-pop girl. i appreciate sad music, but it makes me feel way too much. the exception to this is any female power ballad that i can scream to in my car, bc the dramatics override the lyrics
tea or coffee? give me cold brew w oat milk so i know it’s real
what’s the first thing you remember you wanted to be when you grew up? a teacher. definitely did that very common oldest child thing where i made my younger sibling pretend he was my student. he was a very good sport. but my parents did this fun thing growing up where they told me all sorts of things i wasn’t allowed to be, and a teacher was one of them. honestly though, i’m glad i didn’t go that route, bc i don’t think i’m superhuman enough. we don’t deserve teachers ✨

Stuck at home for the holidays (isn’t bad with you though)
A/N- a holiday gift exchange between me and my friend pika-Cthulhuuuuu on Tumblr! They asked for Evan being unable to go home for holidays so he incited his grumpy neighbor Connor over for a Jewish meal and to watch a movie.
Evan kind of wished he hadn't been expecting it.
There were too many flights booked already for him to fly up to New York City as it was, and he was stuck in plain old Davenport, alone, with practically no one to celebrate with.
Well. That wasn't entirely true.
When he'd gotten the news that there'd be no possible way to go up to New York for Hanukkah, he'd invited his neighbor, Connor Murphy, over for the first night of Hanukkah.
They were friends at best, as sometimes they walked with each other to get the mail, grab a bite to eat, or in general, just to hang out.
Connor Murphy was a graphic designer for hire. He was crazy good at what he did, too, and made big bucks from it. Why he settled for a small, probably crappy apartment (they were all identical, aside from a number of small things) was beyond Evan, but in reality, he couldn't judge.
Evan was setting the table for the meal. It was the first day of Hanukkah, so he was making a big meal to celebrate it. He was basing how he wanted to it on how he and his mother did it; a big meal on the first night, and the rest not as big, but with someone at the table.
The table was filled with potato pancakes, brisket, kugel, doughnuts, and Hanukkah gelt. In the living room, the menorah, a nine armed candle, was set up, and ready to be lit. He even had dreidel ready to play, if Connor was interested.
After everything was set up, Evan went to check his appearance. He wore a red, soft sweater and jeans, which he hoped that would be adequate for Connor's taste.
So what if he liked the guy? This was just supposed to be a nice, quiet night in. Nothing more, nothing less.
A few minutes later, a knock on the door sent Evan sprinting to open it, because he didn't like making people wait (even though they just knocked). He swung it open and stood in the doorway.
Connor was standing outside, wearing a purple button-upped shirt, amount with a leather jacket, and soft jeggings. He was holding a green wrapped box with a tired smile, in the dimly lit hallway that only seemed to emphasize his exhaustion.
"Hi," Evan moved out of his way so he could come inside.
The latter stepped inside, not enthusiastically as he seemed a little tired. "Hey. Thanks for inviting me over. Where'd you want this?"
"By the menorah, please," Evan pointed to it, because he assumed Connor didn't know what it was.
Connor set his behind it, where another wrapped box resided. "When do we have to say the prayer?"
"Actually it's um— it's three blessings, the hanerot halalu prayer, and the hymn. But that's just for tonight. The rest we just say the first two," Evan explained, picking up a piece of paper. He handed it to Connor, "Here, I w-wrote it down for you."
"What, you think I won't remember it," Connor snapped at him, and Evan had to remind himself that his mood could literally go all over the place. Still, it didn't stop his flinch. Connor let out a sigh and ran his hand through his hair, looking away, "Sorry. It's just— I'm still in the mindset of spending the holidays at home. Treat me like I can't do a damn thing myself, but then also wants me to be doing more."
"It— it's okay!" Evan assured, taking his hands without really thinking. All he could think about was the fact that Connor needed comfort and assurance. "You're okay. I-I'm not mad, this is a new, weird thing for you—"
"It's literally anything but weird," thankfully, Connor didn't seemed freaked me out about the hand holding. And he was smiling, so that was a plus. "Me and my family literally just exchange presents, do those stupid holiday photos, and even host a Christmas party. This is... nice."
"I'm glad," he released his hand, reluctantly, and gave him the piece of paper with the blessings. He knelt down to start the blessings.
The blessings took around five minutes, because there were three, but mainly because Evan lead it slowly and with patience. It wasn't because of Connor and him not knowing the blessings, but rather to just savor the first lighting of the menorah.
When he was done, he lit the farthest candle on the right side. He then said the next prayer, and then did the hymn. After all of this was done, he slowly stood up.
"We can eat now," Evan explained, seeing a confused expression on Connor's face. The latter nodded and stood up.
Evan lead him to the table where everything was set up. They decided to sit across from one another and they began to chat. Connor asked some basic questions about the holiday, and Evan explained the meaning of Hanukkah.
"Hanukkah celebrates the victory of the Maccabees over the larger Syrian army. It also celebrates a miracle, where just a day's supply of oil allowed the menorah in the rededicated Temple in Jerusalem to remain lit for eight days," Evan had explained. Heidi always told him that every year, so he just knew it by heart.
"I can't decide if I like the gelt or the the potato pancakes better," Connor happily popped some felt into his mouth, before humming happily. "Everything is so good. Usually my family packs so much shit on the table it's overwhelming."
"Well, Hanukkah calls mainly for fried foods. We obviously can't have seafood or pork, though," Evan ate a doughnut.
"Why can't you guys have pork?" Connor raised an eyebrow.
Evan swallowed, "Well uh, cause it's dirty. Like, it rolls around in its own.. you know. That's why we don't eat it. It's the fiflilest animal alive, in our aspect."
"You've got a point there," he made a face.
"I do make turkey bacon though! It's er, something my m-mom would always make, so it's an alternative to p-pork," Evan grabbed a brisket.
"Is it any good?" Connor was really liking the gelt, as he grabbed another one.
Evan paused for a moment to think. "My roommate in college really liked it. Maybe tomorrow morning I'll cook some up for you."
"I'd like that," Connor smiled at him.
After they were done eating, Evan decided to put on How To Train Your Dragon, because it was one of his all time favorites and he wanted to share it with Connor. They happily sat knee to knee next to one another, watching as they snacked on some gelt, both knowing that everything would be alright.

What song are you listening to right now? I’m not listening to music right now.
Admit it -- you want a Snuggie. What design/color? I have one, it’s black. I used to talk crap about them back in the day haha but I actually love it.
Do you prefer movies at home or movies at the theatre? I like going to the movies and certain movies I just have to see in theaters first, but others I can wait to rent at home. Be comfy and watching movies at home is nice, too.
How many songs does your iTunes have? I don’t use iTunes (haven’t in years), I use Spotify. My main playlist has over 800 songs.
Do you take a shower in the morning or the night before?  At night.
Who's your youngest teacher? I’m done with school.
Have you ever had the samples people offer you at Costco? Yeah. This pesto sandwich sample I got once was reallyyyy good. If you had to name your kid after a food, what would his/her name be? Madeleine. Or Brie lol.
Are you stressed about anything? The things I’m always stressing about and this whole pandemic stuff. That’s really been doing a number on my anxiety, especially.
When's the last time you had a rock, paper, scissors match? I don’t remember.
What's your favorite anime? I don’t watch anime.
Did you cry when Ash let his Butterfree go with the other Butterfrees?
Don't you hate it when Facebook auto-corrects your smiley faces and hearts?  Huh? It doesn’t autocorrect emojis.
Skinny, flared, ripped, or faded jeans? Skinny jeans only.
What are you excited for? Nothing.
Are you part of the Farmville cult? I never got into that. That was such an annoying time cause I would get so many stupid game requests on Facebook. I’m glad that’s not a thing anymore.
What were you for Halloween? Nothing. I don’t dress up anymore.
Have you ever had braces?  Yes, but not for my teeth.
What year of high school are you in? I graduated high school back in 2008.
What's your favorite flower? I just say roses, but I don’t really have one.
Would you ever bleach your hair?  I do.
Have you ever stood on a frozen solid body of water?  No.
Would you ever take up smoking or drinking?  I used to drink back in the day with friends and I smoked (weed) a few times. I don’t do either anymore.
Do those girls with 1,000 friends on Facebook REALLY have that many? Don’t know, don’t care. What holiday is your birthday closest to? Fourth of July.
Are you cyberdyslexic? No.
Are you regular dyslexic?  No.
What would your name be if you were a boy? I’ve been told Jesse was a possibility.
Which person from way back when would you love to hang out with? Hmm.
What color are your eyes?  Brown.
The forever on-going question: Is Twilight stupid or actually brilliant? I was actually a huge Twilight fan back when the books were still coming out and then with the movies as well. Then I just outgrew it and anytime I’ve caught it on TV since then I’m just like wow...it’s so cringey lmao.
Did you carve pumpkins for Halloween this year? We’re only April, but nah I’m pretty sure I won’t be. I haven’t the last few years.
Does your family use a real pine tree or a plastic one for Christmas? Real.
Do you know anyone with a play-on name? (Chris P. Bacon, Justin Case, etc.)  Chris P. Bacon lol. Anyway, no not that I can think of.
Do you have any foreign exchange students at your school? I’m done with school.
Are you good at brain teasers? Sometimes.
Is your handwriting nice? No, it’s so shitty.
What's your second language?  I’m only fluent in one language.
Is it uncomfortable for you to take showers in glass stalls w/out curtains? My shower has a sliding door instead of a curtain and I don’t care? No one comes in while I’m in there, so. And it’s textured glass.
Finish the sentence: Remember, remember... I forgot.
Did you understand Shakespeare? I didn’t enjoy Shakespeare.
What do you want to be when you're older?  I’m almost 31 and still have no idea.

What's the latest you've ever woken up?  Like 4PM, I think.
Can you recite the alphabet backwards?  I could, but it would take me a little longer.
If you could master one language in thirty minutes, what would it be?  Spanish.
Are you a sucker for foreign accents?  I do like some of them. Where were you born? Is it the same place you live currently? Somewhere, California.
How often do you remember your dreams? What did you last dream about? I generally forget them soon after I wake up, but some definitely stick with me.
When did you learn the ninja turtles were named after Renaissance artists?  I don’t recall when I first made that connection.
Do you do yoga?  No.

Younger post-ep ramble 6x11
I may be on holiday but if you think that’s going to stop me offloading some thoughts and feelings about this week’s episode of Younger, ‘Holding Out for a SHero’, then you’d be sorely mistaken (any chance to over-think and over-analyse my fave fake reality). In saying that, this will be a briefer version of my usual post-ep ramble, what I shall refer to as Ramble Lite™. There were parts of this episode I really liked and parts I felt disappointed with, but it largely played out in a way that I expected, with the exception of that twist at the end! Hats off to Joe Murphy for that fab misdirection, I may have gasped.
This episode opened with Maggie in her tomato garden looking radiant and Liza filling her in on the decision not to see Josh anymore because it’s complicated and feelings and that undeniable thing called chemistry (or something like that). I applaud Maggie’s consistent use of Chaz (I really hope we get to hear her say it to his face at some point) and Liza stating out loud that she chooses Charles, but this scene also delivered one of the two big moments of disappointment I had in this ep. If anything was ever going to be out of character on this show it would be Liza, a writer and editor, being unable to come up with decent adjectives to describe the man she is supposedly in love with. Yet here she is describing Charles as ‘a peer’ and ‘appropriate’ as reasons for choosing to be with him. For real? I understand the effort to paint him as the sensible choice vs. the less sensible, the head vs. heart, in this triangle that’s been resurrected. This particular way of describing men has always served a clear purpose in the Youngerverse and ngl, my alarm bells went off in episode 7 when Michelle referred to Charles as ‘appropriate’. Liza uses this exact term to describe Richard, the horrendous man Michelle sets her up with in S1E2 who starts reading emails at the dinner table on their date, he’s ‘age appropriate’. She also described Jay as nice, viable, legitimate prospect, sure, but she also sobbed on his shoulder because she was so in love with Charles that her heart was aching at the thought of missing the chance to be with him.
It feels so painfully deliberate, Charles has gone from intellectually invigorating and romantic and been relegated to safe and ‘appropriate’. My disappointment comes from the fact that if this triangle must remain in play, there can be two men who are vibrant and compelling and really different, without painting one as ‘boring’ and one as ‘fun’. Knowing the way Liza talks about the important people in her life, with such admiration and affection, I feel she would at least say Charles is intelligent and romantic or kind or thoughtful or SOMETHING better than being ‘a peer’ and ‘appropriate’. I do believe that as viewers we often form our own interpretations of characters and when they don’t behave the way we imagine we are disappointed, but in this case it’s the disappointment that Liza’s entire reason for being attracted to Charles is being reduced to the idea that it’s sensible when we have been shown this is simply not the case. Phew, glad I got that off my chest (and so much for Ramble Lite™ lol).
Once in the office Liza is running Diana through the wedding planning, which frankly I cannot wait to see all come together. I love that Liza’s already secretly planned a bachelorette party and really does know Diana well enough to know she’ll want one (so many lols @ Diana’s, ‘yes that’s why I was bringing it up, because I don’t want one’ and could Liza look any more pleased with herself that she’s managed to pull the wool over her eyes? Adorbs). Charles arrives looking for Kelsey and is wanting to see how she would like to break the news that he is once again publisher, because that’s how they work now that they’re the dynamic duo and have I mentioned this week how much I LOVED seeing their dynamic last week? Kelsey proves that she has indeed kept her head and announces that Millennial secured a new investor and that Charles is once again in the boss seat and I am once again extremely impressed with Kelsey this season, as is Diana (and honestly if you have the D.Trout stamp of approval, what more do you need?).  I will also never tire of seeing Diana, Kelsey and Liza as true peers and now friends, it’s undoubtedly a highlight of season 6.
The book pitch of the week is extremely timely (as always), a manners for millennials piece that aims to counteract the generation’s greatest shortcomings, such as ghosting exes and not RSVPing to weddings. This episode really did have some stellar lines and the fact that Liza can now drop jokes in meetings, such as her ‘neither was I’ response to the author’s ‘I am not proud to be a millennial’, is the kind of goodness I am here for since the lie is no longer a thing. Naturally Liza and Diana are both very interested in finding out more about these topics and it turns out the best way to get some finality with the ex is to write a good ol’ fashioned Dear John letter (best way to get those RSVP’s -unknown). This is reinforced nicely in Charles’ office, when Liza leaps off Charles’ desk as though she and Charles were caught christening the damn thing (which would’ve been very ok by me and at this point you should know I’m not at all sorry) by Diana bearing flowers and note from Alice the author letting them know she will not be publishing her book with Millennial (so no Charles, the flowers are not for you).  All this talk of how good letters are leads to Liza penning her Dear Josh letter that night, which we only catch a tantalizing glimpse of initially, before the narration and accompanying montage when Josh actually receives it.
While it was only brief, Charles asking Liza how she feels about him being back as publisher and her answering honestly, she just wishes Kelsey hadn’t been unceremoniously stripped of the title, is yet another lovely insight into their relationship. Charles continuing with, ‘what about you, always thinking of others, how do you feel?’, excuse me while I clutch my heart at the sweetness of it all and seriously, does ANYONE ever ask Liza this? The family picture on Charles’ desk is noted and it’s great but I also can’t help but feel it’s somewhat ominous so I’m putting my gush on pause (v. open to being proven wrong on this).
Kelsey and Zane continue to be all over the place, I have so little investment in them as a pairing and I really think it’s because I have simply not seen enough of them together to know whether I care, though I have enjoyed a number of their interactions recently. It also doesn’t help that Zane has been many shades of douche this season. Since professing their love for one another, he is being caring at the start of this week’s ep, apologising and saying he feels partly responsible for Kelsey’s demotion and trying to allay Kelsey’s self-doubt. It is Kelsey who says that she doesn’t know how to do this with Zane and that one of them always loses (the old editors-who-were-peers-and-then-one-became-the-boss-but-now-they’re-peers-again curse), which returns Zane to Douchetown in time for the staff meeting.
I felt for Kelsey, it would be so hard sitting in that first meeting with Charles at the helm again, though him going through all the acquisitions and saying these are a credit to Kelsey’s impeccable instincts was great and necessary. But then Charles brings up the Arabian Seas book and the ‘we’ enters the conversation, along with a list of books that sound like they belong on the bargain shelf because yawn and yes it’s fine that Charles has his own instincts, but Zane in this meeting is awful. Kelsey calls him out, she is clearly and rightfully angry about the unfairness of her entire situation and she warns Charles to, ‘pay attention…and you too Liza. I didn’t have any boundaries at work and look what happened’. I have no idea if this is foreshadowing but I feel like it could be juicy if it was so let’s keep abreast of any future developments (yes that is a boob pun and you’re welcome).
Highlight of this whole scene of course is Liza ripping into the guy and the whole office when Kelsey walks out of the meeting and can hear that her meme has been made into a banger of a tune. We get fearsome Liza schooling the entire room on the fact that Kelsey did get the money, ‘that’s why we all have a job, she’s a goddamn hero’. YESSSSSS Liza *praise hands*. Kelsey in turn agrees to speak at the girls school event that Lauren put to her earlier (yes it IS ok to be angry and Kelsey no longer distancing herself from her social media mistake but using it as a platform to empower others and be a role model…where do I sign?).
Lauren was in ultimate PR and friend mode for Kelsey this week, trying to figure out how to spin Boobgate and trying to see the positive side of all the invitation cancellations. I always say it, I know, but Lauren’s unrelenting advocacy for her friends is absolutely one of her best qualities and her line, ‘you are an example of a woman who made a very simple mistake and the patriarchy seizing that opportunity to tear you down’, was fantastic. She also very much latched onto the SHero theme and I appreciated her use of the word at any given opportunity.
It is as Lauren and Josh are leaving to catch an Uber to Inkburg Midtown that we discover this means he is very relieved Claire doesn’t have to move to LA now. I really don’t get this. I said last week that Josh is far too woke to expect the mother of his child to bail on her career aspiration just so he doesn’t have to move to LA, especially considering he knows the struggle Liza faced in her own career journey after having Caitlin (who you may remember is her daughter…or was. Current status unknown). If we’d seen in their conversation Claire saying that she really doesn’t want to move but she can’t see another way to give Gemma the life she hopes, then ok, Josh finding a way to up his income is ace. So I do hope we find out at some point this was the case, because Josh deciding he’ll get more money so Claire and Gemma can stay for his convenience, it’s just nope.
Though I do have to say that the biggest benefit of Josh securing the Infinitely 21 partnership is getting to see more Shelly because omfg I cannot with her. The way she talks about paint colours, giving her personal number, the line I could not believe I heard, ‘but seriously, Josh, unload on me’ ( I love that this season has seemed censored af compared to previous ones – I don’t love this but you know what I mean- yet lines like this get dropped in. Too good), I am in awe of her complete and unabashed lust for him.
It is between picking paint colours that Josh finds the letter from Liza and it is heart wrenching. And beautiful. The emotion really is palpable as Josh leaves the store to find somewhere to read it once he realises what it is. The flashback montage is certainly something that hasn’t been utilized in the show and it really leaves such an impression. Coupled with the narration of the letter, it really captures the impact of Josh on Liza’s life and Liza’s genuine commitment to make her relationship with Charles work. If this show was wanting to move these characters past this old relationship it would have been a poignant and perfect way to do it. However it plays out in the long run, I thought it was really well done.
The hands down highlight of this entire episode for me was Diana’s bachelorette party. Lauren running at an unsuspecting Diana screaming, ‘get in the Hummer bitch’ is one of the funniest moments of the series, I will be laughing for eternity. Liza reminding Diana that, ‘I get you’, yes she does and I just love everything about seeing these women, all the Younger women, out together. I feel like the focus of this episode really got pulled to the other drama but this is the first time we’ve ever seen every female character of this show together in a room and I feel like THIS IS A BIG DEAL. Maggie schooling Diana on how strip clubs work and SO many brilliant lines, as Diana waves her money in the air only to tell the first stripper, ‘You’re a lot, no thank you’, then ‘Hi, little one’ as she flags another. The hilarity does not stop with Diana, Lauren’s, ‘here’s a fiver, you should smile more’ is every kind of YES (I sense a whiff of Liz Lemon in that line and I approve). As Liza and Kelsey talk about men and work and blah, Diana tries to bring them back to the purpose of the evening, ‘ladies, there are bulging crotches in your faces, can you focus?’. Listen to the Queen people. Yet another Diana wedding related event in which she ends up asking, ‘how did tonight become all about you?’ and I was thinking the same Diva. *Eyeroll*
The Hummer ends up at Inkburg because Lauren wants to help Diana fulfil her wish of doing something she’ll regret for the rest of her life (and obviously the reason they all need to be there is so Liza and Josh can have their post-letter confrontation). They are all so drunk, it’s hilarious and I would watch an entire feature film about the antics of this group while inebriated. Seriously, take my money. From Lauren’s, ‘Get out of the hummer Doana’ to Maggie’s, ‘I forgot we were in a car’, they cover the entire drunk person spectrum. On top of that we have Diana’s penis balloon hat position which just cracks me up because I am 10 but my fave is Diana saying to Josh, ‘John, just something small, tasteful and literary’ and then as she’s leaving, ‘it was nice to meet you Jake’. Obvs a wise choice not to go through with the tat but I’d love to know what Diana would have ended up with.
Josh calling Liza out on writing the letter and trying to walk away never talking to him was completely fair enough. Him reminding her that she said she would always be there for him, be Gemma’s aunt Liza, he’s not wrong and his hurt and confusion are understandable. But it is so nice to finally hear Liza making a choice and sticking to it (whether she does or not in the future). Josh saying that he gets it, she’s scared of what they were, they still are, it’s powerful and her defensiveness of Charles when he says that she’s making the safe choice is exactly the right response if she really means she has chosen him. And not because I love Charles and Liza together, but because Liza is standing up for her choice and her ‘don’t you tell me what I feel’ retort is so charged and fierce and I love it. ‘I know this is hard to accept Josh, but we were a moment in time. But the time has passed’ - this whole scene is wonderfully acted, the chemistry between these characters has always been strong and this is no exception. And obviously I agree that they need to move on. However my second big disappointment for this episode is the, ‘you forget Liza, I know you. I know when you’re lying (a couple of seasons of thinking she was 26 might contradict that but ok), especially to yourself.’
Tumblr media
I absolutely understand the sentiment and I completely appreciate the setup for the zinger, ‘you wrote a letter to the wrong guy’ (though I do take issue with that line in general considering Liza has just said she’s made her choice. Even a simple, ‘I think’ in front of it would’ve made it less arrogant), but if this setup is leading to a Josh and Liza reunion down the track, then I would have preferred the execution be different because to me, this is not insightful or romantic, it’s Josh once again questioning Liza’s understanding of herself and her needs (I know it’s meant to be him trying to get her to ‘be real’ but it just doesn’t land like that for me). I have no doubt lots of fans are jubilant but it feels manipulative and is not a tactic that compels me to think they might have something worth revisiting. If after Liza said, ‘I love him more’ Josh had looked at her with that heartbreak in his eyes he can convey so well and said, ‘well then I hope he loves you the way you deserve’ or something and walked away, then THAT would show growth and make the possibility of him being an option again (which is clearly where this is all heading) far more compelling IMO.
So in one of the best bait and switch moments this show has delivered, Liza returns to the loft and has a good hard look at the gala photo with Charles and Michelle and Tom (and in my head she’s thinking about how good it is she and Charles promised each other they won’t go to things like that anymore) before we see another letter starting, Dear Charles. And just when all the Team Charles Stans were going to have a collective meltdown, it turns out it’s Kelsey writing her resignation letter and we all exhaled but then didn’t because Kelsey, what are you doing??? So. Much. DRAH-MAH, so little time.
Ramble Lite™, that was a good joke wasn’t it? Can’t believe we’ve reached the finale but I am also very ready because WE GET TO GO TO A WEDDING!!!! Better get my neckwear sorted…

After I finally found a spot in my grandma’s house that has at least a little bit decent lightning, I could finally take photos of these early, little holiday greeting for some amazing people in the fandom ;w;
Who honestly deserve way more than my not very aesthetically pleasing handwriting and my inability to draw hearts.
So alright, we’ve got
Takumi x Megumi for @taku-megu, @mpkp76 and @muggleinvidbuay (who all three love these ships. All three of them are extremely talented and I love all the stuff the put out. And honestly, it’s such a joy to see how passionate they are about their ship! I’m really glad they are a part of the fandom and I can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with in the future.
Soma x Erina is for @hanzome-hasashi, an amazing writer whose contributions to the fandom are gold. I don’t even know how many times I said this now, but “Akai Ito” remains my favorite Sorina fanfiction of all time and I can’t thank you enough for writing it. I remember the day I first read it like it was yesterday ;w; My family and I were in Italy in some very beautiful hotel and it was morning and everyone was sleeping except me, reading this fanfiction so excitedly trying desperately not to squeal and wake everyone up. It’s a memory I honestly treasure, so again...Thank you a lot.
Akira x Hisako is for another amazing writer in this fandom @wishingforatypewriter. Whenever you post something, I almost immediately start smiling. I really, really enjoy the stories you think up and often read them over and over and over. Don’t even get me started how many times I already read the stories you wrote for MarYu! And I can’t thank you enough for them. I love them so much. Your Next Generation is honestly also so intriguing and I am always excited to see new stuff about it! Keep up the good work, I honestly admire you a lot ;w;
Soma x Megumi is for @polar-star-dorks. I’m so glad I met you! Your art style is so.good. I absolutely love it. And your OCs are all so lovely, I can’t wait to see more of them. Also, it’s just so much fun. Making our OCs interact and boding over them pretty much daily. I’m really glad that you’re around and I look forward to your Next Gen fanfiction in the future.
Shun x Ryoko is for @smokeprincess24 who has always been so supportive to me and I just wanted to thank you for that! I’m so, so glad to hear you enjoy my stories so much!
Satoshi x Nene is for @isshinene...who is so! nice! and friendly! Like I really feel like I am repeating myself, but I am appreciating your friendliness a ton! Your review on my fic was just so kind and whenever you reblog some of doodles I’m like “Yay”. I just really appreciate that. Thank you a lot for your kind words and I wish you a lot of motivation and inspiration for future fics.
Last one is Terunori x Masae for @yourmoontothenightsky. Masae is her OC. And well, you’re honestly one of my greatest support systems in this fandom and I truly enjoy bonding with you over our OCs and making up scenarios on them interacting. You’re so nice and enthusiastic and your words about my stories and OCs always warm my heart! Thank you so much for all of that!
I hope you all like it  and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!
Cheers ;w;
